The ireland rugby team is currently ranked 1st in a World Cup. Rather than enjoy that, a bunch of muppets on here would rather whinge and moan about flags and songs.
Some astounding stats from the Irish tax system: the top 20% of earners pay 79% of all income tax and USC. The top 1% pay 23%. The bottom 80% of earners pay 21%. 37% of income earners are exempt from paying any income tax at all.
HMG plans laws requiring public broadcasters to produce “distinctively British” programmes such as Fleabag, Derry Girls and Only Fools and Horses. THIS IS NOT A JOKE
Outstanding article by
@McConnellDaniel
‘That may be his view, but it is not his job to be openly undermining the stated policy of the elected government’ is a key sentence. When will the media ask
@CMOIreland
why he keeps doing it?
@vivamjm
@CatharineHoey
Never mind, how? Why?! Ireland is strongly pro-EU. We would much rather align with the EU than trust the British to keep our interests in mind.
I don’t remember
@Orla_Hegarty
touting Denmark as an example when they were opening up society months ahead of ireland with 60k at a football match, dispensing with masks, etc
Irish politician Richard Boyd Barrett on the streets of Dublin today: Israel is a "filthy colonial regime"... we must "resist it, bring it down." The only answer, he says, is
#intifada
. Rhetoric like this could be plucked straight out of
#Ramallah
or
#Jenin
. Baffling that this is
@sailorrooscout
It’s amazing. I just flew back from there this morning. No face masks, except in the airport, bars, restaurants all open, Covid passports required less and less. Almost back to normal
Very solid arguments put forward by

. Justice for all, regardless of flag, uniform or how you say ‘h’. Great to hear from a former soldier 👏🏻

The EU is responding to the information from YOUR government. To do anything else would be negligent. That’s the role of YOUR government.
@davecoughlan80
@diarmaidm
They gave 1000 of their security staff voluntary redundancy as a cost restructuring. Now they can’t attract enough replacements on lower contracts. And they only have 1 verified trainer.
You want houses but you don't want them in your constituency!

Peak time at
@DublinAirport
but only one runway active. 8+ planes queues for takeoff. Incoming aircraft also lined up for this runway. 2nd runway paid for by the taxpayer but sitting idle. Why?
@RMcGreevy1301
Problem is, the shinners spend all their time in the south shouting about how shite it is, and simultaneously alienating unionists and many non-aligned in NI. They have no interest in true unification
Very encouraging data out of South Africa. Decoupling between new COVID-19 cases and ICU admissions and deaths. In addition, cases in South Africa have peaked and are now on the decline.
Let’s talk about this and more! 🧵
@BEERG
Yet again showing their complete misunderstanding of the EU. 27 countries with disparate needs and wishes and a guy in the middle working on a compromise. They tried to undermine that one guy.
@KeohaneDan
I’m so weary of British commentators talking about the NIP as if it was something imposed by a 3rd party rather than something agreed and campaigned upon by their current government
@ProfJohnCrown
When I see how people are abused and their motivation called into question by keyboard warriors, I don’t blame them for staying anonymous on social media.
@Care2much18
tweets with facts and analysis that seems genuine and is very informative.
@NaomiOhReally
This is bizarre. If AZ has surplus vaccines, then their first step will be to fulfill the orders to the EU that they’re currently failing on
@GColleranMD
Spelling mistakes are not classist. It’s a sign of bad grammar. One of those clowns fired fireworks into the faces of Gardai. Stop trying to condone their actions by blaming government messaging.

@IrishTimes
They need to leave the plan alone and focus on rapid execution now instead of tinkering. Are we really ready to deliver 250k+ per week, regardless of which age group?
@BeattieDoug
Doug, surely this is an area where your party could differentiate itself from the DUP. Work constructively for the benefit of the NI economy rather than blindly follow ideology & self-interest like they do.
@castlvillageman
@OxfordDiplomat
I get this frequently.....'I love Ireland, but hate the EU. I am attacking the EU, but that has nothing to do with Ireland'.....
Incredibly disappointing to see French border control problems once again adding to traffic mayhem just as families are trying to getaway for the Easter holidays.
@IzzyKamikaze
There was nothing anti-democratic about it and to use such a term is dangerous. Both parties were clear in the election that they would not go into coalition with SF. SF failed to put together an alternative. That’s democracy.
