Let’s not forget, Jeremy Corbyn’s first by-election was Oldham West and Royton. Another “Labour Heartland” Red Wall seat in the post-industrial north.
Labour won with a 7.3% increase in their vote. That’s the bar for Starmer in Hartlepool.
i remember being weighed in primary and weighed to work out my BMI in high school and and being just horribly embarrassed and miserable. this is awful and should be stopped.
time and time again the best solution to reduce obesity is to reduce poverty! let’s do that instead!
We must speak plainly. Ben Bradley and the rest of the Tory Party are class enemies that will always spread venomous hatred towards our class. Angela Rayner was right to call them scum, and could have called them worse.
I’ll never forget the first time I met Jeremy, bumping into him in the middle of Newcastle station a few weeks after joining the party. Went up to him and had a 15 minute conversation how he’d brought me into the party. Bloke had the time of day for anyone and everyone, hero.
Jesus fucking wept. We’re getting squeezed from both sides. Losing ‘traditional’ Labour votes to the Tories and ‘Corbyn’ Labour votes to the Greens. Horrific.
Very happy to be elected as North Representative on Young Labour’s National Committee. We face a huge challenge to rebuild the Red Wall and only bold socialist policies will do this! This is what I will push for. Thank you to everyone who voted. Let’s deliver a Socialist Future!
Horrible news coming out of Bolivia. Solidarity with Evo Morales, the first ever indigenous leader of Bolivia who despite delivering huge gains for the working classes and winning the recent election convincingly appears to have been forced from office. Dark times.

what if we had a bank holiday whenever the temperature was over 20 degrees? bit of populism but also give bosses an incentive to tackle climate change, genius imo
Wes Streeting increased his majority from 589 to 9,639 in 2017 under Corbyn. These clowns have no sense of gratitude nor the political wind. They must be firmly challenged.
Wes Streeting to Jeremy Corbyn at PLP: “What is being heard on the doorstep across the country and what people are saying in the tea room, but won’t say to your face, is that you are a bigger issue for us than Brexit.” 1/2
Lots of chat about Lexiteers abstaining/voting against Labour in the upcoming Euro elections. I can understand the frustration at the NEC imposed candidate list, but in a time when fascistic politics is on the rise it is deeply irresponsible and reckless to not vote Labour.
Anyone else notice whenever a figure on the left becomes popular and articulates public opinion, ghouls do backflips to try to smear from the left? And yet these losers fall for it every time. Defend Mick Lynch, defend the RMT, defend the workers!
There's an inherent colonialism in the attitudes of people like Mick Lynch, who think the British working people can fight for their rights and challenge authority but that ordinary Ukrainians should meekly submit to the yoke of their imperial oppressors with no agency at all.
a bit soppy post but got 74, 74 and 78 in my three january exams after balancing supporting the strikes, doing loads of GE canvassing and feeling really terrible lately and it’s cheered me right up. a very happy boy.
i’m sorry are we all okay? this budget isn’t good.
our platform was giving working people *agency*. not just spending more but empowering working people to have control of their own lives. cannot be achieved by pushing money in the front end through same broken system!!
@_____newt
lol in the newcastle one they have “love will tear us apart” on the wall in neon writing, of course by famed anarchist thatcher backer ian curtis
Went to Becky Long-Bailey’s launch last night, and if I’m totally honest it was the first time I’ve been hopeful since the election result. No area of the economy or society is immune from her radical socialism. She is committed to a socialism for and by the working class! 🤝🌹✊🏻
Mr Remain has took a turn. If only he’d had this respect for democracy 4 years ago perhaps we’d have a Labour Government now. Instead he fought tooth and nail for an unsellable position on the doorstep. People will see through this.
Also great job leaking it to the sun 👍🏻
Really happy to let everyone know I’m standing to be your rep for the North on Young Labour’s National Committee!
Full launch statement and like my page here:
Let’s create a Young Labour group in the North to Empower, Organise and Rebuild! ✊🏻🌹
ordered some glasses online and they’ve emailed back to say “we need you to send a photo of yourself. In the photo you will need to remove your glasses and place a credit card (or any card the same size) on your forehead close to your eyebrows.” which has resulted in

If right before a General Election isn’t the time to sack people who only seek to destroy our election chances, when is?

Consistently Bastani has been calling for policing of "antisocial behaviour." A fundamentally reactionary idea which was a stalwart of blairism. We already live in a police state, more police is never the answer
An utter disgrace. Labour has held Durham Council since 1919, and was the parties first ever county council.
Solidarity with the incredible Labour activists in County Durham who worked to try to keep the council red. A sad day.
BREAKING: Labour LOSE majority on Durham County Council for first time in 100 years
Another staggering and historic election outcome in the North-East

@marcusbarnett_
Even your mate Lenin understood it's possible to support a political project and criticise it at the same time. BTW because it's dogsh*t Labour is not supporting it. They're abstaining.
Why Corbynism failed, and why Socialism will win; a few thoughts on the election.
THREAD
The ultimate reason for the failure of Corbynism is that it failed to fully relate socialist policy to people's daily lives and material conditions. (1/12)
Corbyn has won big there. A huge win. When put with working people there is no contest. We need radical change and we need it now. This is the night this election will swing on!
Great to be outside St James' tonight volunteering with the Fan's Foodbank.
@eiecampaign
is grounded in working class communities and knows that only through working class resistance can we win! Lots of generous and heartwarming support for the campaign. Energising!
The reason we support things like universal broadband is because it’s good policy. If you don’t think it’s popular (@ most leadership candidates), it’s YOUR job as leader of the party to make it popular. Good politicians change public opinion! amazing you have to explain this
So so happy to have today been awarded with a 2:1 BAEcon in Economics and Politics from the Uni of Manchester. It’s been a long time coming but so many people have supported me to this point and I’m so pleased to finally graduate this winter! 👨🎓🎓
