Playing zone in AAU/Club is chasing wins. An adult ego thing. Club teams don't practice enough to be as effective against zones, especially multiple zones.
Parents, if your child is in a club doing this, run. It's not about development no matter how many times they say it is.

Windy City Classic. One game was called early due to it. After that one numerous parents and the coach aggressively approaching the ref. And we wonder why there's a ref shortage? Sad, ridiculous, etc... Do better.

Congrats to my wife Katie Poole on graduating with her Doctorate in Nurse Practice Leadership yesterday. About 8 years ago she decided to go for it & go back to school for nursing. Who knew I'd have to call her Dr Poole in the end. An amazing journey. I'm a lucky man.

What a journey it's been from youth through high school hoops. You have dreams for your kids. Making 1st team All Conference and HM D2 All State is just incredible. For something like this to come true, I just don't know what to say. I'm just so proud of her and happy for her.

Super proud of these girls!
We went 0-4 in our last tourney. Could of made excuses, blamed, etc. Instead, they embraced the feedback it provided & used it.
Fast forward 3 weeks after some hard work & we went 4-0 in the top bracket at a tough Cheesehead Challenge tourney 💪💪
Girls played some AMAZING basketball this weekend!👏🏼
Went 4-0 against high quality opponents😤
Could not be more proud of how far they've come since March. Defense, rebounding, focus, execution on O, selflessness, and intensity were all on display

RIP to my good friend & incredible human. He made me a better man just by living his life the way he did. Lived out Thoughts -> Words -> Actions -> Habits in his life. Leaves behind an incredible legacy, but more importantly an incredible family that will keep that legacy alive.
Rest in Peace to an incredible man. Tony Huml was with us from the beginning of LiR. He leaves a tremendous void behind to those that loved him. Grace, character, grit, love, and kindness personified. Love you brother, you & your teaching will live on in all of us ❤️🙏❤️

In today's world I think it's really important to help your kids understand where their self worth should be derived from. If you don't, they'll likely find it in unhealthy areas. Even if you do, they'll still gravitate towards those unhealthy areas. 1/2

If you look at the European model vs the US model for youth basketball development you'd find very different approaches. One is well thought out, detailed to age of player, etc... The other is designed around $$. That is simplified, but this is Twitter 😉

If you are the parent of an athlete please read this thread. The best lesson our kids can get from athletics is learning how to be tough & positive in the face of adversity while finding their way through it. As parents we play a huge role in if they actually get to learn it.
When I was 18 years old, I signed an NLI to play basketball at the University of Florida in one of the top recruiting classes in the country. Guess what? It was hard, and I struggled. Instead of sticking it out, I transferred.

They started w/ games Thurs in MN. Another non-live period day.
Saturday, they had to travel from MN to IA.
6 days of games. 2 of those days w/ no coaches allowed. Moved hotels/states on day 3 😳

Amazing how quickly these NBA deals get done. Multi million dollar contracts being negotiated and announced within minutes. It's almost like they spoke about them prior to free agency opening. That would be tampering though so I guess that's not possible.
