Everything about
#Garage56
has impressed me this week. 3am this morning, the guys and gals in their pit and on the pitwall were sharp as ever. Such a well turned out and professional outfit. It's Hendrick, so to be expected, but think it has changed a few perceptions of NASCAR
It does amaze me that an experienced IndyCar race winner is not automatically allowed an F1 seat. If he can punt himself around Indy without being a danger to others, I reckon he'll be ok. Bloody silly system really.
Observation from
#RallyeSweden
. All the Yaris rear wings get a considerable accumulation of snow on the lower face of the bottom element. Fiesta and I20 don't.
F1 Twitter does make me chuckle. Can we not just accept that Verstappen and Hamilton are two stratospheric talents, one entering his twighlight the other his ascendance, and it is a privilege to see them race.
Now they are some tidy flow lines on the

, cunningly not using luminous flow viz, but then flagging up there was something to hide by standing in front of the car

Peugeot are doing something interesting with their front suspension, keeping it hidden. I have pics of it uncovered but waiting for someone who knows what they are talking about to give me comment.
@Jefferson_MFG
The motorsport industry is now effectively sitting idle. Vast and as yet untapped resource of precision engineering capabilities. Renowned for getting things done that needed to be done by yesterday.
As I have litterally thousands of tech pics, I'm going to try and keep a steady stream up over the next few weeks. Here, 2020 Mercedes brake and axle detail.

To reinforce my point. The the end fell off this guy's giant syringe used to add oil. Dealt with totally calmly, no panic, no faff, just fixed it and got on with it. No waving of arms or shouting. Super professional.
Another view of what we are now pretty sure is an early prototype of Red Bull's 2026

power unit. The challenge of these engine's is going to be fascinating without the MGU-H to make everything work.
A few neat bits from the
@PMWExpo
show, the LMDh transmission, a 2020 spec F1 clutch, Nascar Next Gen caliper and the lovely 908HDI FaP gearbox. Some more to follow later
Whoever it was asked for a Williams front end, sorry, I don't have one. But here is a nice shot of their Merc engine install from last year to make up for it

Now undecided, cam covers definitly look Hondaesque, but not the same as those on this year's car, or last. Someone with a better eye for detail take a look pls.

2026 is going to be as hard, if not harder than 2014 for powertrain development. I just sat down with Merc AMG HPP MD Hewel Thomas to talk about the challenges, not least, how will they get the efficiency without the MGU-H!⬇️⬇️⬇️
Finally got a chance to have a crawl around the Toyota GR010 LMH car, so of course, here is a technical gallery. Will add more through the race today and tomorrow

My take (not that anyone should care) Merc gambled race would end under SC, so didn't pit. That's why Ham lost. The stuff about unlapping cars etc is just noise. RB made up for qually with every call today being the right throw of the dice and were ready to exploit the unexpected
I figured this should probably be online as well as in print. With the new season nearly upon us, a technical review of 2022 F1, across two parts (with loadsa lovely tech piccies!)
Technical review: F1 2022 Pt.1
With FP1 getting underway here at the

, here is a comprehensive technical preview of the Hypercar class. 12,000 or so words of exclusive insight into these impressive bits of kit.
It's taken a while but the new issue of PMW magazine is now out. It's free to read and I've taken a deep dive into WEC Hypercar, NASCAR Next Gen and a host of other bits. Enjoy, I will also be adding many of these features to our website in coming weeks.
The Christmas night Monaco GP was a belter. Ended up with a Ferrari 1-2 after Cooper started strong but fell by the wayside after gearbox issues (christ the rules to this game are complicated)
Peugeot said in one of its press releases that the 9X8 used off-the-shelf 48V drone motors. Turns out it was to run this pump (MGU cooling?), which appears to be why the

is in the pits. Mechanics looking at a frayed cable but even when replaced, no joy..

The more you pay attention to Le Mans, the more engrossing it is. Since I started helping
@Motor_Sport
with their race reporting from here, I've gained a whole new level of appreciation of just how multilayered the whole thing is. There's really nothing else like it.
Technical gallery from Silverstone now updated with some nice juicy SF-23 066/7 power unit shots. Seems there were some issues for Sainz, engine went in..then came out again.

A total tangent but seeing that reminded me of this shot I got in 2018 when exhaust blowing the wings was still a big thing

Given how rabidly they have a 3rd party company pursue you if you inadvertently use one of their images, take em to the cleaners.
It might have been a while since Le Mans, but

was probably the highlight of my motorsport year. Without tooting my own bugle too much, I think this is the most in-depth dive into the development of the beast. Read below ⬇️⬇️
Whoever said motorsport doesn't help with road relevant development. Rowe are to run a steer by wire system in DTM this year, helping prove it out and refine its feedback etc
