Gotta feel for Justin Fields. He literally left it ALL on the field tonight. Got the shit beat out of him and still got the
#DaBears
within a few inches of a win. Now, he’ll be the subject of unfair criticism for the next 10 days.
So, to summarize, since Friday, the
#Bears
have:
ADDED:
D.J. Moore (WR)
Tremaine Edmunds (LB)
TJ Edwards (LB)
Nate Davis (Guard)
a 2024 1st round pick
a 2023 2nd round pick
a 2025 2nd round pick
LOST:
Moved back 8 spots in Round 1
Uh, yeah. All hail King Poles.
Trubisky through three games: 3 TD, 2 INT, Bears are 2-1.
Mayfield through three games: 3 TD, 5 INT, Browns are 1-2.
But let's keep hating on Mitch!
#Bears
The
#Bears
have lost 11 of their last 12 games against the Packers. It'd be quite a story if the Matt Eberflus + Justin Fields era kicks off their phase of the rivalry with a win in Green Bay Sunday night.
#DaBears
Matt Nagy failing to give Justin Fields a vote of confidence after yesterday’s game is just another example of his fatal desire to be the most important guy in Halas Hall. It’s coaching malpractice. Guess what Matt: Fields IS more important to the
#Bears
than you are.
Anyone who questions Justin Fields at this point is just trying to be a contrarian & 'the smartest guy in the room.'
Fields is a young QB who's still developing. But he's also, arguably, the NFL's most exciting young superstar.
Stop being so angry. Fields is special. Enjoy it.
I'm starting to believe no one, not even the officials, wants Justin Fields to be great. There's no logical explanation, in today's NFL, with the mandate on protecting the QB, that this ISN'T a flag.
If the 49ers don’t want to pay Deebo Samuel, I’m sure the
#Bears
can come up with a trade offer that makes sense. Deebo is worth every penny he’s asking for and would completely change the outlook for Chicago in 2022 and beyond.
Through three games this season,
#Bears
TE Jimmy Graham has played just 43 snaps. Would've been nice to use some of that paycheck to keep a guy like Kyle Fuller around.
Just watched a David Montgomery highlight package. My lord. He's on the cusp of being one of the NFL's elite backs. Give this offense a QB and let the Montgomery parade begin.
#Bears
Eddie Jackson needs to spend time working on his tackling instead of throwing shade at Lance Briggs, a universally loved player from the
#Bears
past. Not a good look, Eddie. Not good at all.
#DaBears
should fire Luke Getsy. Move on. Be bold and fix the underlying problem. He isn’t good at this job at this time. It happens in every industry. He’ll get another job, he’ll be fine. Bears need to move on NOW before it’s too late.
I think it's safe to say this will now be Justin Fields' offense in Chicago. Luke Getsy had his chance, and he blew it.
Week 3 is really Week 1 for
#DaBears
.
I REALLY hope Justin Fields has a breakout game Sunday against the Chiefs.
Not only will it be a sigh of relief for Bears fans, but it’ll also be must-see stuff on here watching all the Fields experts backtrack from their 8 quarters of QB bashing.
Please have a game, QB1.
We gave Trubisky four years. Justin Fields deserves more than 14 starts before
#Bears
fans/media start turning on him. Remember: 2 months ago, everyone was yelling at Poles for not getting help for Fields in the offseason. What happened to that narrative? Now it’s all on Fields?
Nagy's system doesn't work. Trubisky proved it. Foles, his hand-picked guy, proved it. Dalton was on his way toward proving it. Every QB who's played for Nagy has proven it.
Ryan Pace has a choice: Let Fields be another sacrificial lamb or commit to QB over coach. Now.
#Bears
Justin Fields has a new head coach. A new offensive coordinator. A new center. A few new depth wide receivers and they’re going to add another one or two in the draft. Suggesting nothing has been done to help Fields in year two is just false.
#Bears
If Jim Harbaugh wants to return to the NFL, then the
#Bears
need to do whatever it takes to make sure he's their next head coach. A former first-round pick of the team, he's said Mike Ditka is his mentor, he's got the personality and, uh, the resume to thrive in Chicago.
At some point, the
#Bears
have to pay someone. And it might as well be a homegrown player -- as Roquan said. AND it might as well be a linebacker -- Chicago loves them. ANNND it might as well be the best homegrown linebacker Chicago's had since Brian Urlacher. Pay the man.
Jonathan Vilma saying Justin Fields has to prove he’s going to be “the guy” in Chicago next year with 2 minutes left in the game, down 41-10, is the most ludicrous thing I’ve heard this season. At least pretend you’ve paid attention to
#DaBears
this year. Horrendous.
Focus on Fields' BIG TIME THROW, not the fumbles. Focus on DJ Moore stepping up and being THE man. Focus on Montez Sweat and the defense's impact. Lots of positives to focus on (ignore the grumpy beat guys).
The biggest problem is and always has been Luke Getsy.
The
#Bears
are who we thought they were at the start of the season. A team that will fight for a .500 record in the 1st year of a new coaching staff/offense/overall regime. Justin Fields was EXPECTED to struggle because of a poor supporting cast. Why are there so many hot takes?
Who's calling plays for the
#Bears
this Sunday?
Matt Nagy: Keeping that in-house.
Is Justin Fields starting on Sunday?
Matt Nagy: It depends.
Come on. This is getting really, really old.
Darnell Mooney + Byron Pringle + Velus Jones Jr. + Cole Kmet = playmaking and athletic ability for Justin Fields to target in 2022. As Getsy said, Davante wasn't Davante until he became Davante. This group will end the year with more respect than they have right now.
#Bears
I wouldn’t mind if the
#Bears
said “thanks for all your contributions to Chicago, but your services are no longer needed here” to Germain Ifedi after this BS:
Your friendly reminder that Justin Fields would be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022
#NFLDraft
, and it isn’t particularly close, IMO. I don’t care if the
#Bears
pick is No. 7, 5, 12…wherever. The trade for Fields was and remains a massive win.
Justin Fields isn’t ready, so I’m told, while Zach Wilson is out here tossing four INTs in the interest of “valuable experience.” Fields made one bad play against the Bengals. That’s it. Start him and don’t look back.
#Bears
Khalil Herbert has the third-most rushing yards in the NFL behind only Derrick Henry (359) and Jonathan Taylor (305) over the last three weeks. How do you send a guy like that back to the bench?
I love how two of the
#Bears
stars, David Montgomery and Roquan Smith, aren't making much noise about their expiring contracts. There's a strong team-first culture brewing in Chicago... that's a great thing.
I understand Deebo Samuel comes with a massive contract, but the
#Bears
are in Year 2 of a rookie QB contract. Now's the time to land guys like Deebo, if possible. And if Chicago is targeting a WR in Rd 2? Swap a few picks and get one of the NFL's best.
Trubisky isn't the problem tonight, which is actually a BIGGER problem for the
#Bears
. He's been an easy target. If the offense is THIS bad even when he's playing solid football, that's a HUGE concern.
Bears might as well just roll with Nick Foles again if the caliber of player they're considering is Andy Dalton. Why invest in a player like that when you already have a version of him on the roster.
Hats off to Justin Fields. He’s getting better every week.
#Bears
have a franchise QB. Now they just need to build up the franchise around him. Coaching staff needs to go; the lack of discipline and attention to detail cost Chicago the game.
All the negativity seems like it’s focused on Justin Fields. Meanwhile, Zach Wilson may have lost his job to Joe Flacco and 49ers players didn’t vote for Trey Lance to be a captain.
#Bears
So, let me get this straight. This team is tweeting a hype video about Justin Fields, their prized rookie QB, connecting with his favorite target all while the head coach REFUSES to name him the starter? Makes sense.
#Bears
Jaquan Brisker will be such a great example why we, as fans, can’t overreact to picks on draft day. Everyone wanted a WR. But, man, Brisker has a chance to be a culture changer, an absolute enforcer for the
#Bears
for a long time. Trust Poles; trust the process.
Imagine, for a moment, that former
#Bears
GM Ryan Pace DIDN'T trade up for Justin Fields last year. Boy, would this be a LOOOONG offseason. Be thankful that Chicago has a player who would've been an absolute lock to be the 2022
#NFLDraft
No. 1 overall pick.
The
#DaBears
still have a second-round pick.
The
#Bears
weren't going to re-sign Roquan Smith.
The Bears now have Chase Claypool.
I don't understand how (or why, really) anyone can be complaining right now.
#Bears
fans put up with Mitch Trubisky (and held out hope) for nearly four seasons. Any anti-Fields chatter is irrational and hot-takey. He’s started 13 games in his career, not even one lap through an NFL season. He is the QB1
#DaBears
have always needed. Just give it time.
I have a bad feeling that Justin Fields is going to be a force with the Atlanta Falcons and Bijan Robinson if the
#DaBears
don’t figure things out soon.
Eddie Jackson signed a four-year, $58M contract extension with the
#Bears
on January 3, 2020. He rewarded them with the worst season of his career that year. He's off to an even worse start in 2021. Time to question what the long-term plan is/should be with him moving forward.
Justin Fields has a big opportunity tonight to prove in front of a national audience that the future of the NFC North belongs to him and the
#Bears
. The Packers, Lions, and Vikings are searching for their QB-next. Chicago has theirs. Big chance to make that statement tonight.
If you think the
#Bears
aren’t committed to Justin Fields, aren’t building around Justin Fields, or don’t believe in Justin Fields, then you don’t know anything about the
#Bears
. And that’s fine. But let’s let the writers, insiders, and bloggers who do, cover the team.
Imagine, for a moment, if the
#Bears
hadn't traded up with the Giants to No. 11 to land QB1 Justin Fields. Chicago would be starting Nick Foles this week, and the search for QB-next would continue into the 2022
#NFLDraft
, where it doesn't look like a legit QB class is coming.
Matt Nagy suggested the Packers didn't make any adjustments with Davante Adams in the second half despite his 7 catches in the final two quarters. When asked to clarify, Nagy seemed incapable of explaining what the 2nd half adjustments even were. Brutal.
#Bears
Go back and listen to Justin Fields' press conference after the game. He's an A+ leader who is going to have a very long and VERY successful career. You don't find guys with his mental makeup all that often. He's a rare dude, and the production on the field will soon match.
Where's the praise for
#Bears
GM Ryan Poles today? Why aren't we hearing from all his critics? Shouldn't he get some credit for adding two veteran starters to the offensive line? I guess that would go against the offseason narrative that's been beaten to death, right?
#DaBears
fans: embrace the possibility that we might draft this guy. A legit, no-brainer, No. 1 overall QB. Imagine the fear we’d have if Williams was headed to the Vikings or Packers or Lions. He’s THAT guy.
Remember,
#Bears
fans: Tom Savage started the first game of 2017 when the Texans were going to take their time with Deshaun Watson. That lasted one half. Don’t worry, Justin Fields will be QB1 very soon.
Justin Fields is the most talented quarterback the
#Bears
have ever had. It doesn't mean he's a guaranteed success, but Nagy needs to stop pretending he's the smartest guy in the room. Get out of the way and let the rookie start. All season.
The biggest power move the
#Bears
can make at WR at this point would be to re-sign A-Rob and somehow add JuJu Smith-Schuster, too. If Poles wants to really level up the WRs, a corps of Robinson, Smith-Schuster, and Mooney is... exciting.
It’s obvious that
#Bears
QB Justin Fields is much more confident entering his second season. He sounded like a seasoned pro in that presser. A big, big year is coming.

I never thought I'd be more excited about a
#Bears
starting QB than I was the day Chicago traded for Jay Cutler. Then came the 2021 draft and Justin Fields. Yet, I'm even MORE excited this season. Fields is going to tear up the league in Year 2.
Today has that Christmas Eve feeling for
#Bears
fans. Once the tampering window “opens” tomorrow at Noon, news of who GM Ryan Poles will surround Justin Fields with will begin to break. It’s one of the funnest 48 hours of the NFL calendar.
Is there really a debate among Bears fans about whether the Keenan Allen trade was a good move? Listening to ESPN 1000 right now, you'd think this was a BAD move by the
#Bears
.
Criticism for the sake of criticism is dumb. This isn't hard: It was a great trade by a team that
Ohio State WR Chris Olave on the prospects of playing with
#Bears
QB Justin Fields in the NFL, via Mark Grote:
"I feel like we could complement each other very well if we got to play together again."
I try to maintain realistic expectations for the
#DaBears
every year. I’m always optimistic, but I try to be realistic too.
With that in mind, the Bears will win 11+ games this year.
A maturing QB. Upgraded OL and WR group. Upgrades at LB and CB. Depth and upside along DL.
