Data is only as good as what it looks at - if it only looks at post-crash data, it won't be able to analyse how crashes can be prevented, only at how crash victims can be medically treated more effectively. This is treating the symptoms not the cause.

Um, er, these "campaigns" have been tried for 100 years. Unless backed up by law enforcement and deterrent sentencing (plus highway and vehicle engineering to cut danger at source) they're at best useless or create the false impression that we're "doing something". @roadsafety

Sorry, but speeding and driving while distracted -using a mobile phone are CRIMINAL ACTS, not 'bad habits' and need enforcement, not 'public awareness campaigns'. As if drivers are not already aware that these are illegal activities!

#FreePalestine rally today in Whitehall as @metpoliceuk did not allow us to march to Portland Place to protest at @BBCNews, which we have done many times before with no incident. @Labour blocking peaceful protest - disgraceful!
