@brandonadixon @SuccessWithJake @KurtisCarman The right opportunity and operator and private is way to go. Funny you say that though, my goal was to outgrow the need of HQ support as soon as possible. No right or wrong ways. It’s mostly operators. Good ones find a way.

@SuccessWithJake @KurtisCarman @brandonadixon No broad stroke answer. Going to depend on the operator you have tabbed and skill set. Franchisor will offer some support, a network of fellow franchisees is valuable. Are these benefits worth the upfront fee and royalties? Investigate and validate only way to have any idea

@KurtisCarman Not to mention the network of other franchisees all across the country dealing with same issues daily. Greatest asset for me in being a franchisor for sure. Again not for everyone, and it doesn’t ensure success either though the outcomes are generally higher than independent.

@KurtisCarman @BlueRocketParty Guys like that are involved in many other investments as well. Also at a level of wealth where they are buying well established brands in volume, or funding developing ones. Are you familiar with the multipliers the franchisors sell for or franchisee locations in volume?

@KurtisCarman @BlueRocketParty This is an assumption I’ve seen you make many times in this thread. The vast majority of pro athletes leave their sport needing to work again. Shaq is not your typical athlete or your typical former athlete turned franchisee.

@KurtisCarman Some franchises deserve being disparaged. No different than some real estate opportunity or independent business acquisitions. It’s not for everyone, but there are many advantages of franchise systems when done right.

Thanks for having me on @MatznerJon. This was fun! I found multiple invaluable members of my team through Sagan. I appreciate your small business takes, sensibilities and voice

@irentdumpsters As service business franchisee and a franchise consultant, I agree. Be skeptical. And run if the franchisor is bragging about speed. Profitable zees > territories sold

@FranchiseMnA This is true. The best ones have the patience and long-term vision to be selective in prospective franchisees. Franchisors that boast about "units" sold or how quickly someone goes from prospect to franchisee is a 🚩

@FranchiseMnA Viewing businesses solely through their consumer lenses, “I like coffee”, mixed with not knowing how to do proper due diligence or validation.

@brianbeers @MatznerJon I’ve worked with multiple people who have been through your “process”. Not disparaging your success as a broker, you get deals done. I’m taking umbrage with your deals first approach and lack of care for franchisees success. Opposite of responsible franchising imo
