Just coming back from an errand. I saw some wispy clouds that look like eyebrows in a very regular pattern. I looked closer, I could see one being formed. A jet at very high altitude. It had to be the vomit comet flying parabolas to simulate weightlessness. I wonder why they are doing it here in southern AZ. As far as I know we don't have any spaceflight training around here.

This kind of stuff is why I'm an advocate for reduction in bureaucratic overhead. There is a DC bubble, the IG's are part of it and that is part of the problem. DC needs to be de-centralized because it has become politically incestuous. Move the department headquarters around the country. Separate them.

You would need to look at the contract they were procured under. You're not hearing the whole story. It is probably a part from a sub that includes engineering, tooling and test. Don't take what politicians say at face value. That's not to say that somebody shouldn't take a look to make sure we aren't being ripped off, but if it includes engineering and test and such, that's probably a bargain.
