This is silly, angry machismo. The best marriages include a man who pursues God and exhibits the fruits of the Spirit: "Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and SELF-CONTROL." Be a God-honoring husband and lead your wife well.

This @nytimes essay is very sad. Marriage is not an "as long as it suits me" arrangement. It's a lifelong covenant between you, your spouse, and God. Dissolving it over something like an illness demonstrates you weren't mature enough to care for someone else in the first place.

I see this as problematic for guys looking to wed. "There could be someone better!" If you want to get married, pray about who God wants you to be, who he wants you to marry, what the purpose of marriage is, and trust the women he brings you is a blessing to you and him.
