Bouncing kids from one travel team to another, or parents starting their own team so they can control where and how much their kid plays all the time is one of the worst things wrong with youth sports today. How about encouraging kids to COMPETE & EARN their spot?

Basketball is PERFECT for November. Lot of jumping/stability. Can still lift in season at lighter weight/ higher reps focusing on movement/ tempo. Reality is select coaches are salesmen. They don’t do this for free so sometimes what is best for the athlete is trumped for $$$

I post the same throwing schedule on our pitchers GroupMe that I would on a Monday in the dugout. Map out the whole week. All you can hope is they are getting the warm-up/plyos+throwing/recovery done. Guys have communicated to me where they can get this done at.

I think both are right. Guy misses his spot at 98 then yes that’s the only way your “blocking” that. Im guessing the main issue today is youth/HS catchers think that’s how it should be done every time + it’s being taught that way. Creating some bad habits especially situational.

Same thing with pitching! How many times have you seen a guy throw 20 pitch pen out of the wind up in under 10 minutes! I see it all the time! Zero consciousness or flow.
Amateur Hitters
SLOW down in the cage.
Reset and take quality swings.
Quality over Quantity.
Shorten your rounds to 8-12 quality swings per set.
Don't take a bunch of swings in a row.
Slow down.

fan. I’ve transitioned to more of body parts that are activating vs j-band exercise routines. I still use the bands! And his knowledge! Most kids can’t keep pelvis/ ribcage control…. RPR into bands has been a good mix.

Amazing how many guys are throwing high intent bullpens for the purpose to showcase. I love throwing but we have a lot of adults making money off these kids with injuries still skyrocketing! Stop paying for the magic pill expecting a result. Secret is in the dirt.
