I had a wonderful time at MFF this weekend. I was able to meet with some old friends (some for the first time!), make a few new acquaintances, and explore Chicago a little bit. The panels and events were a lot of fun. I was also visited by the sticker fairy! :)

The hypocrisy's still there though. You can't say "Fuck fandom cops" and then tell zoos "You're not allowed here." We never needed permission to begin with. We have been here forever, and we aren't going anywhere.

Zoophiles are indeed banned from attending our convention. The campground has a strict no animal/pet policy, and under Maryland House Bill 641, Bestiality is considered a felony and this law will be enforced at the con. We are a private event, we will ban people accordingly.

Not really feeling great this evening. I was reminded earlier that some of the people who are closest to me think of zoos as a joke and “lesser than”. Just a reminder that I can’t fully be myself towards them no matter how hopeful I mistakenly allow myself to feel sometimes.

I know the relationship between zoos & Fur Affinity is a somewhat tenuous one, but even so... Dragoneer did so much for the furry community. He helped others even when he was going through it himself, & he uplifted furries as a whole with his work on FA.
