1/ PUMPED to finally announce that I've officially joined @firstround as a Partner. I couldn't have imagined this when I joined their Angel Track program a few years ago, but now I'm on the team that's laser focused on helping Day 1 founders.

Traveled down to Vandenberg earlier this week to witness something pretty special IRL: @SpaceX’s Transporter-12 mission launch, with @K2SpaceCo along for the ride for their first mission flying hardware. First off, experiencing the launch + booster landing (RTLS) in person was wild. Videos do not do justice to feeling the impact viscerally or hearing the sonic boom for yourself. But I was mostly left feeling so damn proud of @KaranKunjur and @neelkunjur. Investing in hard tech is a game of betting on people with crazy ideas. In this case, it’s a game on double difficulty mode. Hardware is hard. Space is hard. Hardware in space is unbelievably hard. The Starship Flight 7 test in Texas yesterday showed that. @firstround was lucky enough to be able to make a pre-seed bet on the stellar K2 team back in 2022. Here was their crazy idea in a nutshell: to build BIG, high-powered satellites for commercial, national security and scientific missions. The emphasis is on the XL size there. They’re fundamentally rethinking the satellite bus with a new set of assumptions, adding mass to reduce cost and enabling previously impossible missions as the gates to space open wider with SpaceX’s Starship and other heavy-lift vehicles. They’ve executed at an insane clip since then, making significant technical progress and epic hires. To go from raising their first round to watching their first launch less than 3 years later is unbelievable. This week marked the first of many more to come — can’t wait to see all the future launches filled with K2 Space satellites. It will never get old. LFG to the moon (literally.) 🚀
