This is Malietoa, or Toa for short, which is Samoan for “brave warrior.” Last night, in the span of about 45 minutes, Toa and his partner, Officer Jered Lutu, tracked two unrelated home invasion suspects in different parts of the city leading to those men being arrested.

As most of us were sleeping, K9 Atlas located a subject in South Beaverton who had twice fled from officers.The subject was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and charged with Felony Elude and Reckless Driving. Atta Boy!
A Ring doorbell camera caught a package theft suspect in the act today. Quick thinking by the homeowner and good police work landed this suspect in jail.

An upset community member threw trash in the roadway and knocked over several local business signs on SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy. Officers Wilburn and Mithsada took it upon themselves to clean up the debris and reset the signs prior to morning rush hour traffic.
Just after 1 am this morning, K9 Enzo went to work tracking a man with a warrant that was last seen in the area of SW Canyon Rd and Hwy 217. Enzo tracked to a vacant house where the wanted man was found hiding inside. You can’t fool Enzo’s nose.

Officers were called to Hwy 26 this morning regarding an injured Canadian goose. They were able to calmly and carefully get the goose into a pet carrier. The goose was taken to the Audubon Society for a medical checkup. We hope it makes a full recovery.
UPDATE ON MISSING: A community member who was alerted by social media spotted Mason and called us. We located him at 158th/Jay. Thanks to everyone for getting the word out. We are glad this had a happy ending because of our community.

Motor officers Bryan Dalton and Marc Hevern were first on scene to a structure fire in an apartment building near Murray/Scholls Ferry. They didn't find any humans home in any of the apartments but they rescued Alpine.
BPD Officers wished Marjorie Lovenguth, a long-time Beaverton resident, a Happy 100th Birthday today at Morning Star Retirement Home in Beaverton. Officers arrived with their emergency lights activated and sang Happy Birthday.

We understand people trying to get home before the snow comes. But for one driver going 107 mph on Highway 26, it was too much. The driver was arrested for Reckless Driving and DUII. He later have a breath sample indicating his BAC as 0.15.

ATM SKIMMER CAPTURED.
Officers were alerted to suspicious activity at the Unitus Credit Union ATM on Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy. 2 males briefly eluded in a car then fled on foot. The primary suspect was captured and his accomplice remains outstanding. Add’l tweet to follow.

Male Arrested For Breaking Into Cars
On 10/8 BPD Officers arrested 18-year-old Treyvon Harrison for breaking in several vehicles on 10/1. One victim was able to provide officers with a picture of the Mr. Harrison in her car.

Today we remember Cowlitz County Deputy Justin DeRosier who was shot and killed in the line of duty on April 14th.
Our hearts go out to the blood and blue family of Deputy DeRosier.
