It is a childish, made up belief that your neighbourhood is “destroyed” by a few buildings you glance for 3 seconds a day
A large increase in housing does not require much bulldozing.
Suppose a detached house is replaced by block of 20 flats.
A 20% increase in the housing stock, enough to halve the cost of housing, would only involve the demolition of 1% of existing houses.
