Sign my petition supporting 1000 homes in Kiama Extreme prices here reflect high demand, our institutions tell us this is optimal for homebuilding. NIMBYs are wrong to tell you to build where its cheap, like in Camden where noone wants to live.

200k ebike sales. About double EV sales and a fifth of car sales Public transport will never be good in low density suburbs. No one’s going to send an empty bus down your street every 10 minutes

Excessive Heritage in a growing city destroys culture; 25-34 yo's have halved in Balmain It is the equivalent of removing their kids play equipment, closing the bars, the bunnings Yet heritage extremist NIMBYs complain their town is a retail dead zone of solely coffee shops 🤔

Great SMH feature on the current heritage fight in the inner west. We need to make sure we’re not setting the bar so low that half the LGA is covered.

Allow some higher density housing and get 2 or 3 houses on your whole street turn into 40 units It is a childish, made up belief that your neighbourhood is “destroyed” by a few buildings you glance for 3 seconds a day

A large increase in housing does not require much bulldozing. Suppose a detached house is replaced by block of 20 flats. A 20% increase in the housing stock, enough to halve the cost of housing, would only involve the demolition of 1% of existing houses.

Fundamentally, this is because Canberra’s housing policy establishment still sees housing as a welfare issue. They have fringe views on economics, uninformed by the recent research. 3/5

So the Housing Minister claims the “sector” i.e. property developers told Labor they can only afford to provide 10% "affordable" housing in exchange for tax handouts. Then said Labor would refuse to negotiate with parliament. So Labor answers to developers, but not parliament?
