Coming back from Sydney to Melbourne it is very clear what the biggest urban difference is between the cities:
In Sydney the area you can live without a car is far larger, and has been so for a while. Melbourne should make it a policy priority to expand the useable inner network.

This is insane to me. Melbourne has far more beach stations than Sydney. We even have 3 with beach in the name.
That’s because this isn’t actually about heritage: they don’t want the apartment building. They’re the only Sydney suburb with both a beach and a train station but still view mid-rise as overdevelopment.
This is an abuse of the heritage process
