The sport of ๐. TRIP HANDICAPPING + never get outworked = TRIP NOTE PROS. All views my own. Live feed host
@delmarracing
8/1 - 8/11 & seminar guest all Sun.
I may have bitten off more than I can chew, but happy to confirm that when not hosting, I'll be the guest 'capper on the live feed with Kurt Hoover through the
@DelMarRacing
season. ๐๐
I'll be prepared and do my best. See you on July 21st!
I admit it. I feel like I rant machine lately, but this is just unacceptable. The
#6
horse comes flying late and then the rider eases up the last few jumps and gets beat nose. ๐คฏ๐ก
@iradortiz
Hey, At least he gave room to the RIDERLESS horse into the far turn.
I've never seen a more wreckless, careless, selfish and dangerous ride...EVER.
So probably an overshare, but thought I'd share anyway because it makes me happy.
On 1-21-23 I quit drinking. That means today today is 4 months. Pretty cool.
I'm still waiting for the "ell bees" to come flying off like I'd hoped, but I that'll happen soon. ๐
Just listened again for the first time since I hear it live, and you can hear the track announcer TURN ON his mic in order to scold the jockey on the gallop out.
This was a track announcer dressing down a jockey over the mic! Some bush league garbage if you asked me!
When this guy entered the room, it was always a smile followed up with, "Champ in the house" coming from
@Quigleys_Corner
.
Sadly, he's left us too soon, and it's on to the big house in heaven, for the Champ. We'll miss you.
RIP Jose.
Irad deserves an immediate suspension for what he just did. Like...IMMEDIATE. Shouldn't ride again and be forced to watch from the sidelines for a very long time.
Hideous.
This tweet will get shade. I don't care.
After watching Flightline run in his third or 4th race, I said, "He's the best I've ever seen." It was obvious to me. People looked at me sideways. Today, I'm saying that Flavien Prat is the best I've ever seen.
The best riders
This isn't meant to be a knock on Saratoga as I'm a big fan of both CA and NYRA racing, but I admittedly never thought I'd see CA racing like it is today - not including MTO's or AE's, 21 more entries than Saratoga on a Sunday.
WOW!
Thank you to
@DelMarRacing
for trusting me enough to hold the ๐๏ธover the the last 4 days. I learned a ton, had a blast, and most importantly, hope that I assisted the gamblers in their race replay work.
@tripnotepros
#nevergetoutworked
Despite already having a clear shot in the stretch (Irad on the
#7
), he ๐ to his right, sees an oncoming and threatening rival, and STEERS OUTWARD & INTENTIONALLY BUMPS him in an effort to discourage.
What are we doing here?
This is criminal. Thankfully the
#4
won (escaped potential danger). Irad blatantly came outside, bumped the eventual winner but could have caused serious injury to help his brother Jose win. This recklessness has to be reprimanded.
What skilled cameramen/women do...they pan out with daylight winners so that horse players that bet exactas and tris, etc., can enjoy their wagers.
@santaanitapark
Without the horse player there is no racing. Not horses. Not owners. Not trainers or jockeys. The model starts with gambling. We should ban together and boycott a big track on a weekend day and see what happens to handle. RT if you agree.
#lowertakeout
Maybe I'm crazy - but if Golden Gate is on its way out, why not use it as a test bed to see what might happen?
Shut down the CAW's, lower takeout levels to 10% across the board, and see what happens.
Who knows, maybe what is learned might save a future track.
We don't need new fans. Horse racing needs to clean up its problems before having people enter their restaurant. A bad appetizer, a bad starter salad, a bad entree, and a disgusting dessert, all served from a rude waiter, is not going to earn and retain fans. It's just not.
Terrible morning. I just found my old golfing buddy passed away, presumably from alcohol abuse. ๐ข
We used to go pretty hard on the golf course and then after...and would rinse and repeat far too often.
If you need to hear this, it's never too late to quit anything that's
Cue 'em up. Just got my first text message from I friend I haven't heard from in 51 weeks asking me who was going to win the Derby.
Ill make the over - under 14 1/2.
Dear
@GulfstreamPark
, just one guy's opinion, but I highly recommend putting an Australian Shepherd or two to work. Scaring off these geese when they start walking around the track before a race could save a life of horse or jockey or both.
Dear Every Major Racetrack in the USA,
CAW's are the ๐ฟ. Be the 1st to remove them from your wagering and we will play your track!
โก๏ธWe will leave the other tracks to play your track, b.c we know we're not being 'droned to death.'
Signed,
The Horse Player

A left a safe life earning good money to begin a business in horse racing, so I hate what I'm going to say, but...
It should be considered that the decision to DQ "Brick Ambush" is pure corruption. I don't believe it's possible to be this incompetent. I just don't.
I'll lose followers for being "negative." I don't care.
Here is VIDEO 1 of 2. I know I'm expected to believe that the rider on the
#6
(the 6/5*) tried. But I'm sorry, as much as I want to, I can't bring myself to believe this was a "legit effort." This deserves an explanation.
I was in the clubhouse turn & listened to
@umbyrispoli
SCREAMING for the entire gallop out. It was pure joy! I even bet against him & I was smiling ear to ear.
I looked at my son who went to the races w/ me - & he never does. My son looked at me and said, "That was epic!"
I've made a career change to follow my passion. Watching Rifling enter the gate at
@WoodbineTB
at 9-1 and go off at 5-2 is BEYOND "an issue."
This is a WRECKING BALL.
@keenelandracing
does so much right for the players.
- Penny breakage.
- Early entries.
- Lowered takeout for DD this spring by 7%.
- Quality TV production.
I haven't gotten to hold her yet, but this result "is official."
I'm a grandpa! Which is fitting b.c my nickname in my former career was grandpa b.c I always went to bed so early!
Welcome Kayleigh Joy.
Watching my boy fulfill a dream and dunk a ball...no words...
It's funny b.c when he was young he said, "Dad I wanna dunk." Inside I cringed. Not sure why I didn't have faith. Made it to 5'8" & stuffed it. Still growing up. Love you bud. Enjoy the year.
Imagine being such a massive AC/DC fan that you call a horse "Thunderstruck" for the ENTIRE race, even though his name is NOT actually Thunderstruck, and then lock in on him in the last 3/16 when he has NO SHOT.
Someone give Bejarano the mic.
Obviously if you follow me you know I watch more replays than is humanly possible, but man,
@GulfstreamPark
's Saturday card is a TON of work! Doing detailed trips for nearly 110 horses (and then writing about them) in one card is NO JOKE.
When my dad returned home from his stint in Vietnam, he was barely older than my son who graduating from HS this month. And while he was one of the lucky ones, volunteering to become a tunnel rat meant he saw dozens of his friends and fellows soldiers, die.
#respectthefallen
Trainers that hit at 35% in FL are going to be admitting guilt when they dip to 7% overnight. They'll be dropping horses, desperate to win. Horses will scratched left and right. Pull up a chair and some popcorn...this is going to hilarious.
Not only does she refuse to take off her goggles, but she's taken to looking for sticks and logs to practice her backhanded crop. ๐๐ฌ๏ธ๐ฌ๏ธ๐ฌ๏ธ๐ฌ๏ธ๐ฌ๏ธ๐๐๐
I watched again with a fresh set of eyes, & it's MUCH WORSE THAN I THOUGHT! The jock of the 6 ALLOWS him to lose touch with the field, never permits run at any point until the stretch, & tries to lose after getting surprised when his partner EXPLODED late! (continued)
I admit it. I feel like I rant machine lately, but this is just unacceptable. The

Does anyone find it interesting that Saffie has just one entry in 20 races between today and tomorrow?! When was the last time that's happened?
I told these guys wouldn't be entering! Unfollow - block - whatever. This 'aint coincidence, folks.
Race 1 on opening day

Klimtoglory. Comment is 'Tracked inside.' Laughable. Nothing could be more deceitful.
Trip Notes will be posted in 24 hours - and FREE!
More to follow. Stay tuned.
This year's Preakness was the best I've ever seen. I respected Swiss Skydiver going in, although I thought she was overmatched and would get beat....and coming out I left a huge, huge fan.
Possibly the most underrated race track announcer in the country -
@johnjlies
. He came in cold off the bench for
@larrycollmus
, and didn't miss a beat, nailing every race call. ๐๐๐
The call in the last was unreal.
If the CHRB had made their findings public I'd be far more inclined to believe in their decision to toss the positive test. But they didn't. They hid information from everyone. I don't believe anything they say from this point forward regarding this matter.
What a pitiful, embarrassing, incompetent, pathetic DQ of the winner at
@TurfwayPark
.
This is why fans leave! Even a newbie could see that the
#6
was always going to finish 2nd, yet the winner was DQ'd!
#horseracing
Excuse my language here, but riders being removed like
@umbyrispoli
was on Rock Your World...well...it's bullshit. I have no choice but to root against him in the KD now. I can't root for what would devestate the rider that helped get him to the big dance.
The sport is broken.
Under its current leadership and the way the sports major associations, and organizations are currently operating the sport is unfixable.
Disruption was not my first option.
In order to cut through the bullshit, the bureaucracy, the politics, the old
I've watched hundreds of races over the last 24 hours. My eyes are tired. I'm really tired. And when I watch these horses warm up in Hong Kong and I make my notes I feel blessed to be doing what I love. The thoroughbred is the most amazing animal on Earth.
Fine. I'll be the jerk. The "in-race production"
@EllisParkRacing
is where incompetence meets nausea.
It was like this last year, & management has done NOTHING to make it better. A complete middle finger to the fans.
If you can watch R3 & not be annoyed, you're better than me.
Let me preface by saying that I don't mind the crop at all. But frustration whips from jockeys infuriate me! They are bad for the game and give horse racing a bad look.
Why would you ease a horse and then throw (2) hammer strikes on his left shoulder in the lane?
Imagine a P6 carryover day in New York. You handicap, get involved, and take down the ENTIRE POOL. You post the ticket in celebration, commit to donating to TB aftercare because you're a good dude, and you get RAILED.
Amazing stuff.
I'm still kicking myself about Wonder Wheel in the Juvenile Fillies. She was a CITY BLOCK better than 'Chop Chop' in the in their previous meeting, and was a much higher price on the tote.
We teased this recently, and rumors tend to be true! This are FREE when playing
@TwinSpires
- trips + workouts...a dream come true. ๐
@ChurchillDowns
I've received 7 private thank you's for the notes on this winner.
And 1 note from someone that I'm sure will block me, for doing what I'm doing, because he says I'm ruining "value."
Get used to it! We're not going anywhere. And BTW - this horse was an overlay you jackass!
I've watched over 80,000 replays in the last 9 months. With complete confidence - Paco is the smartest turf jockey of them all. The guy has a plan and if called for, pivots to the correct decision...EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
