Waking up on the first Saturday in May at home in New Jersey. Missing the stomach butterflies, the Ambien drowsiness, the flash cards by my bed, and all the angst that comes with calling the most exciting two minutes in sports. Can't wait to experience them all in September!.

Saw @JohnnyGWeir trending. A few years ago he worked the Kentucky Derby with us and was wearing a mask at our meeting. I asked him why. He said "I have a sore throat and you all have important roles on the show and I don't want to get anyone sick." That dude is a class act!.

33 years ago today I called my first race on the mic through shaky binoculars at Bowie Race Course. I was 18, nervous, and I'm guessing the call wasn't very good. It's been a lot of fun coming to "work" everyday since. Can't wait for Saturday! @TheNYRA @NBCSports.
