@RodTeel1 @danmccay Why should taxpayers fully fund a parent's decision to send their kid to a government school? They can pay tuition and get an income tax deductions for their kids like they do for private schooling.

Why does 'accepts all children' matter? Parents pursue the best fit to their child's needs. Those who do not have means would have means if they could leverage the funds allocated to their child's education.

@bryan_caplan Even if I could magically trade places with anyone, it wouldn't be my life or my story. Comparing to others can inspire, but does not change how satisfied I am with my own life. Sour grapes analyses of others, or any exercises in self-justification, are not healthy.

@RodTeel1 @danmccay My argument is that the primary objective of education funding is the education of children, not flourishing of a particular school system. We do not require SNAP to be spent at government grocery chains, why should we do the same with education funding?
