@AvoidinBabylon If the Jesus prayer is listed as one then this also would seem to be. But IMO an act of contrition should state sorrow explicitly.

@_HillyT Yeah “flowing from… motherly bosom” is only slightly better. I’m tempted to translate as “satisfied with the abundant milk of her consolation” a poetic cloaking of Isaiah’s graphic literalism. But really aren’t comfortable messing with the text

Yeah I don’t think I’m gonna have the youth schola (1/3 teenage boys) sing this version of the Introit on Laetare Sunday. This is a pretty strong argument for Latin 😂

@Apauwels25 In the case of Isaiah whatever “good” done by the graceless is obstinate sinner is blotted out by sin. In the case of James the “works” are fruit of grace(God working) in the person

Under this logic “tru Christians” should reject Christianity. The Trinity, Incarnation, Resurrection, the Bible et cetera. @farmingandJesus why don’t you be consistent and reject Christianity all together?
