With funding from @EUinKenya, we are committed to supporting and strengthening linkages between local, national, and regional stakeholders, enabling them to use such platforms to collaboratively address emerging cross-border challenges through enhanced coordination mechanisms.
π Strengthening Cross-border Peace and Collaboration π°πͺπ€πͺπΉ Through the @BORESHA_HoA Project, RACIDA Kenya organized a #CrossBorder Engagement Forum, bringing together local authorities, community elders, representatives, and women leaders from Kenya and Ethiopia. This forum plays a vital role in fostering collaboration to negotiate, establish, disseminate, and sustain local peace agreements, driving long-term solutions for peaceful coexistence and regional resilience. By promoting dialogue and unity, we continue to pave the way for lasting peace and prosperity across borders. #RACIDA #BoreshaNabad #PeaceBuilding #CrossBorderCollaboration #CommunityEngagement #Kenya #Ethiopia

Using contextualised Market systems development models, weβre co-implementing activities with governments and the private sector, including agro vets, fodder traders, and producers to strengthen community capacities to combat climate shocks in the Kenya-Somalia-Ethiopia borderlands. In collaboration with local agriculture departments, 521 Livestock Common Interest Group (LCIG) members are being trained in fodder production, aggregation, seed bulking, dryland farming, livestock management, and marketing. Led by @drckenya & @RACIDAofficial, this initiative empowers communities to safeguard livelihoods and strengthen their resilience to shocks.

@BORESHA_HoAΒ team recently participated in a coordination meeting with fellow @EUinKenya, @EU_in_Somalia and @EUinEthiopia funded cross-border programme teams in Dollo Ado. We are excited to collaborate with @FAO's PLACE and @UNmigration's Deris Wacan programmes, engaging in productive discussions on coordination strategies and resource optimisation to support borderland communities. Together, we developed a comprehensive plan to enhance outreach and scale up water access, climate-smart agriculture, animal health, and financial inclusion interventions. Our shared plan focuses on concentrating interventions in a few targeted locations to enhance scalability and defining roles and responsibilities among the programmes to ensure maximum impact and efficient operations at a scalable level.#EUDelivers

As part of our approach to strengthening cross-border platforms, improving coordination, and unlocking market opportunities in the Mandera Triangle, with support from @EUinKenya, 40 cross-border committee members from Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia convened to analyse market challenges and propose actionable solutions. This initiative aligned with efforts to re-establish defunct committees and provide a platform for reorganisation and networking. The group developed action plans to ensure efficient access to cross-border market opportunities for all communities, enhance livelihoods, and address existing challenges.
