The most powerful buffer in times of stress and distress is our social connectedness; so let's all remember to stay physically distant but emotionally close. Reach out and connect; even a short text or smiling face on Zoom can help. Regulate, Relate, Reason.

With ACE awareness increasing - it will be important to push past the simple question "What happened to you" & ask "When did it happen" "Who was there to help" "Who has been there for you since" & "Is it still happening" Think beyond ACEs - to development & connectedness

@BDPerry it’s not in therapy sessions where most of the meaningful therapy happens. It’s in situations like we have in schools everyday. Sometimes it’s the simple things like calling a kid by name. We have the power to make positive differences! #oklaed

Tonight I realized that I am really broken. Show biz, trauma from my past, & being a single dad has brought me to my knees. Tonight I also realized that I am going to completely surrender. From now on, I will be weak and let God be my strength. That is the only way I can do this.

I agree...the ACE study was an epidemiological study. Very good for what it was designed to illustrate. It is very light on mechanism or complexity; both of which are necessary to develop meaningful practice, program and policy changes.

TY to the supportive comments about the opportunity to share @NeuroSequential with @Oprah & @60Minutes ; BUT that is 12 minutes. True transformational power resides with each person learning, sharing and acting on these concepts. Each of us, in small moments, make positive change

Emails about please can we have training in “trauma informed” practice. Some things to be mindful of. By no means exhaustive or prescriptive. Trauma informed is so often used as a buzz word, a tick box, and a checklist.

Curious about who is using our image here. This has been a huge problem... using these without attribution or an accurate representation. Too much room for misrepresentation. We would respectfully ask whoever used this to NOT use it anymore.
