It's simply common sense to hold fentanyl dealers accountable for the damage they inflict. This issue shouldn't be partisan; we must set politics aside and work together in our fight against fentanyl to save lives. It is unfortunate we couldn't vote on Alexandra's Law today.
A look outside of the California Attorney General’s
Office, where photos of loved ones lost to illegal fentanyl line the sidewalk.
Parents are launching the ballot initiative process to let CA voters decide if the state should crack down on fentanyl dealers.
Proud to stand with my colleagues as coauthor of ACA 5 to protect marriage equality in CA.
Marriage is a contract and commitment between any two people in love and that should be made clear in our state constitution. 🏳️🌈
Trafficking of a child should be a serious felony. There were 5,257 human trafficking cases - in California alone - in 2021. Let's stand up for our children and get this law on the books.
Love at first sight, and every day after.
Happy Anniversary to my amazing wife Dez.
Eight incredible years filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. From our first date 17 years ago to now, every day with you has been an adventure.
Cheers to us and to many more
On the eve of Independence Day, it's inspiring to join with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle and stand together, using our national anthem to drown out hate. 🇺🇸
NOW: On the eve of the 4th of July American Independence Day, Democrats and Republicans join together in the CA Assembly to drown out anti-Israel protestors in the gallery by singing the Star Spangled Banner.

Back to Session! Looking forward to continuing to advocate for better education for our kids, effective public safety, and a more affordable California. Let’s do this.
With soaring costs of living, Californians are at a breaking point. Working w my colleagues, we can prevent a gas price hike by:
✅ Delaying the expensive summer-blend fuel transition
✅ Stopping the gas tax hike on July 1
✅ Extending the diesel tax holiday

As we celebrate Pride Month, we take the opportunity to reflect on the positive impacts LGBTQIA+ people have had in our communities.
It's also a time to learn about LGBTQIA+ history & recognize the challenging space we find ourselves in now.
Proud to speak on the Assembly floor today as coauthor of ACA 5 to protect marriage equality in the state of California.
It is the preservation of our sacred American principles. It is an endorsement of individual freedom.
It is simply the right thing to do.
Excited to announce that my bill, AB 1408, passed the Assembly Education Committee! This legislation would empower our most disadvantaged students stuck in failing schools, granting them greater flexibility to switch schools and pursue success. Together, we can foster an
Yesterday we gathered with friends and family at the Capitol, to adjourn the Assembly in memory of our beloved Brian Nestande.
It was heartwarming to see so many come together to honor Brian and the legacy of service he left.

Today the legislature refused once again to delay the latest gas tax hike. I will continue to oppose it and fight for you every day.
Save yourself that extra 8% before the holiday weekend to keep some of your hard-earned dollars in your wallet!
ACA 13 is an attempt to make it easier to raise taxes on hardworking Californians. People are already struggling to make ends meet. We strongly oppose ACA 13! Let's be clear—voters are the ones who have demanded a higher threshold for new and higher taxes.
The Wah Caucus is excited to welcome back Assemblymember Megan Dahle!
Your presence and leadership on the Assembly Floor was greatly missed. We are so grateful to have you with us to work on getting California on the right track.

Yesterday I presented AB 237, my first bill before the Education Committee. AB 237 will help vulnerable kids in poor performing schools transfer somewhere that can better serve them and provide much needed education equity.
Thank you to my colleagues for the unanimous approval!
Pleased to hear Governor Newsom join our position in supporting youth football by opposing AB 734. While the author's attention is focused on the health and safety of our youth, banning youth football for kids is may not be the best approach. Let’s champion the positive impacts
Retail theft is crippling California and endeavors to make comprehensive changes are in danger.
Two solutions are on the table: a bipartisan legislative package to crack down on retail theft and a ballot initiative reforming Prop 47 for tougher penalties and long-term reforms.
The fentanyl crisis is killing people at an horrifying rate. We have to do more to inform and protect our communities.
This is not a Republican or Democratic issue - it's a life and death California issue.

Proud to join hundreds of community members to Stand with Israel. People throughout the region came together to voice their support and offer comfort during this time of grief and growing concern. Thank you to all the local leaders that continue to show up.
The reality is that marriage is a contract & commitment between any two people in love, & it’s high time we make that clear. We need to remove the unconstitutional language from our California Constitution. I’m proud to coauthor this legislation.
Today we spent the day surveying the damage left behind by Tropical Storm Hilary. We will need significant resources to rebuild and I’m confident that with the help of our partners, we will get there.
Thank you

One step forward two steps back.
Addressing crime should not be a zero-sum equation. The Legislature should not amend Proposition 47 without voter approval. We are doing our job by focusing on fixing laws that the Homelessness, Drug Addiction, and Theft and Reduction Act does
Solving the homelessness crisis should be bipartisan. There is no compassion in allowing people to sleep on sidewalks & be found dead in tents. We are reaching out to the Governor to put politics aside & take control of this crisis.
Spent some time visiting with local businesses in the district last week. One of the highlights was this tour with Prime Time International. They grow the food that feeds people around the world and it’s awesome to see in person. Thanks for hospitality!
Joined my Inland Empire Caucus colleagues in inviting Chief Justice Guerrero to visit the region to see how our counties are hurt by not having enough judges. Our residents need to feel safe, have speedy trials, and get quick access to family court when needed.

Those who knowingly sell fentanyl that kills people should be subject to a murder charge. It’s poison that we need to get off of our streets.
Legislators should pass this amendment & take it to voters.

Let’s cherish and protect this natural wonder for future generations to enjoy!
I had the opportunity to introduce my amazing little sister, Jamie Wallis, on the Assembly floor yesterday.
Fewer than 15% of engineers are women, and she’s one of them. She also played NCAA D1 softball.
So incredibly proud to have her with me in the chamber.
Retail theft is nearly a $100 billion/year problem. I’m proud to support AB 335, which requires a nonpartisan study into the failed Prop. 47 to help reduce retail theft & make our communities safer.

Thank you to our Democratic colleagues for hearing the concerns and joining to find real solutions!
