Call me PC all you want but the word ‘junkie’ does not have a place in media and those in media calling a specific demographic ‘junkies’ are out of touch with modern Ireland.
Evictions happening in the middle of a housing crisis, ridiculously poor landlord regulation, mortgage arrears over 10 years remain high and short-term arrears have spiked, vulture funds now own 77% of residential mortgages in long-term arrears.. but sure, lets get mad about this
Some personal news...
After two fun and incredible years with
@thecurrency
, my time there has officially come to an end.
I am so excited to announce though that I will soon be joining the
@irishexaminer
as a business reporter!! 🗞
Just heard Olivia Rodrigo's cover of Nothing Compares To You from my Fairview apartment and I have such severe jealousy of everyone at that concert right now 💕
That press conference further proves that Tony Holohan is the right person to deal with this crisis. So calm and patient. Side note: as someone from the west, I have never heard of the Western News... 🤔
Delighted to be named Upcoming Journalist of the Year by the

The co-owner of Teddy's Ice Cream in Dublin has said that it may be tough to get a 99 ice cream cone in Ireland this summer, due to a global shortage of Cadbury's chocolate flakes
People showed us such great support when the ban was imposed on us. We’re not going to forget our friends in
@IrishTimes
while the ban remains on them.
(The fact these bans can exist in the first place is the real issue)
All I can say is Dr Peter Boylan is a credit to all those who have been affected by the 8th Amendment and to Irish society in general. I am delighted he represented

This is just not true. Exam marking this year has been a disaster but the Irish educational system has not always been a tool to enforce privilege and is extremely different to the UK system. A part from this year, our educational system is brutally fair
It didn’t go wrong, Education in Ireland and the UK has always been a mechanism by which privilege could be enforced, all a standardisation model did was hold a mirror up to that reality. It worked almost too perfectly.
Belittling someone's job in the media and not marking out the journalists name in the email... I'm sure you have better and more pressing things to do than that... Anyway
#BeKind
Vile. My agent received the below email... Niamh Walsh I’m sure you have better and more pressing things to write about than guessing a child’s name and pressuring someone to talk about it either way! I’ll talk about my child on my terms when I choose.
If we didn't have "politically motivated" art, we wouldn't have the three pieces below...
Also, every public body, especially those risking their lives, deserves respect but none are above criticism.
Finally, the old and the sick are being forced out of homes. That's the issue
For those who have been remote working, do you like it and would you like to keep doing it, or do you want to return to the office? For those who haven't been remote working, would you like to see it introduced to your workplace?

I feel like Ireland stormed off to bed for an anger fuelled nap in 1971 and never full woke up.

Whatever your opinion on a United Ireland, it is mad that the voices of Sinn Féin members were banned from being broadcast on RTÉ under Section 31 and now nearly 27 years since that was lifted, the leader of Sinn Féin is on RTÉ debating for a 32 county Ireland

Flexing that you bought a house at 20 in your resignation letter, while a national housing crisis is happening, doesn't sit well with me. Signifies a clear detachment from reality which isn't good when you hold/held public office

1️⃣ Work from home where possible.
2️⃣ Cut out household visits.
3️⃣ Wear face coverings correctly.
He also confirmed that tradesmen can still work in people's homes but to take precaution.

If you haven't heard about about the Gamestop story yet. enjoy: Gamestop shares rose by over 60% in after-hours trading on Tuesday just after Elon Musk tweeted "Gamestonk" and a link to a Reddit forum that discusses Wall Street bets and refers to the Tesla CEO as 'Papa Musk'
I hate the ‘what about the...’ response. It was a story. It was written fairly. (And also it was clearly a British Army recruitment podcast... why else use and then delete the hashtag)
I’m used to media outlets twisting stories and aware I have a platform that I will use and continue to use. Especially to speak about how men have written about women in the past as well as lots of issues I feel strong about. So in full this is what I wrote to

Gardaí have warned of serious delays on the M50 in Dublin due to a protest by farmers. Delays are reported southbound on the M50 from the M1/M50 interchange to junction 4 Ballymun where all lanes are blocked. |
Being able to personally thank some of the people that made this historical change possible was one of yesterday's highlights. Which is exactly what I did when I bumped into these heros. (Even if I was embarrassingly soppy while doing so!)

It's time for Student Unions across the country (especially those representing third level institutions with college newspapers) to come out in support of free press and democracy. To come out against censorship and this insulting TCDSU referendum

After 7 months during my final year, today was my last day with

A lot of incredibly brave women across the country coming forward tonight speaking out about abuse they’ve suffered. I hope you all find peace and justice.

Whatever your politics.. this is a phenomenal moment in Irish history. FF and FG being told what’s what by the leader of SF (now the most popular party in the country) and the leader of that party being a woman who is the closest in history to becoming the first female Taoiseach!
I come from a town where the two main schools were same-sex. The main issue is certainly not academia but it does fuel a social problem. Ireland clearly has a toxic masculinity culture for various reasons but imo samesex schools is kindling for this issue.

I have no accommodation for the upcoming year+I don't possess a lot of money or any EP tickets. My phone keeps breaking also. All I want in the world right now is for my family to leave the sitting room so I can watch Reeling In The Years in peace
After two years of unnecessary sass and, on occasion, disrespect coming from SU members towards

Big respect to all the gang at

take a bow sir.
