@chesscoachandra Yep, I have been trying to learn the basics of most of the sicilians. A lot to cover and it was nice to see a fine overview.

@bslillis @PHChess @GMJacobAagaard @EmilSutovsky This is actually the first time I side with FIDE. To me it seems quite a corrupt organization. However, although I like Hikaru videos and Magnus games, I think they are not the right persons to take care of the game as a whole.

@PHChess @GMJacobAagaard @bslillis @EmilSutovsky In terms of serving public good. As a profit-making organization Freestyle chess probably cannot be even expected to do that. It's not their job. And that's why they are not the right organization to organize world championships.

@GMJacobAagaard @PHChess @reachvsara I am also thinking that with all its flaws, FIDE is carrying out tasks for public good, including FIDE rating etc. Not convinced, if it were to be replaced by the businessmen (Magnus et al), they would be interested in public service and not only self-promotion and making money.

@ChessProblem I actually don't see a contradiction. I think they have rules that state the conditions under which Freestyle chess could legitimately hold it. I agree with many critiques of FIDE but why not Freestyle Chess create its own Federation and stop pretending?

@PHChess @GMJacobAagaard @EmilSutovsky Sorry for intervening. Normally I agree with @PHChess critique of FIDE. Here it is clear that Freestyle chess just wants to undermine FIDE (maybe good?). But then they just should create a competing federation and not try to pretend something else.
