Finally Dr Tsvetanova! 🥳 Today I successfully defended my PhD! Thanks to Prof Angela Wood and Prof Tjeerd Van staa for such an insightful discussion! What a great way to finish this journey!

Earlier last week, I submitted my PhD thesis after:
4 years,
40,000 words,
4 scientific publications,
6 international conferences
Many thanks to everyone who was part of this journey!

Thank you
@TheInstituteDH
for organising a fantastic conference and giving me the opportunity to present my PhD research to this amazing digital health community! Until next time 🙌

Just for the record, there are currently 7 million Bulgarians living in the country and 6 million living outside. 6 million! I am one of them. But seeing all these people thirsty for change and their anger caused by the injustice gives me hope.

, we are writing a review on published clinical prediction models, approved by NICE. We are aware of a few and would appreciate if you could name the ones you may know
Excited to share that I recently attended the prestigious
#OxML
school, which focused on the applications of AI and ML in healthcare and covered a range of exciting topics in the field! 🧬👩🏻💻Thanks to
@GlobalGoalsAI
,
@UniofOxford
and CIFAR for organising such a great event! 🙏
I am excited to share that this year I was honoured to present my PhD work at 3 international conferences and 1 summer school, organised by
@ISCB_info
,
@RSSAnnualConf
,
@AMIAinformatics
and
@CC4AIM
! I've also started the 4th (and final) year of my PhD - what a milestone!🤩
Excited to announce our 5th Postgraduate student showcase within the Division of Informatics, Imaging and Data Science, which will take place on 26th and 28th of Jan! Some great talks to be delivered!

Now, I can officially dance when my code is working and cry if it’s not because I’m working from home. Earlier, I used to hide my feelings.

Despite its reputation as a male-dominated field, I am grateful to be a woman in STEM! Thanks to all the inspirational women are putting in the work to change the world as we speak! We are strongest when we cheer each other on.
Happy international women’s day ♀️

P.S
The review is exploring how CPMs handle missing data during model development, validation and implementation. 📈
We have not been able to figure out how to systematically search for such models. Any thoughts how to do this are also welcomed!

Thanks, Tim! We approved an immediate open access for it, but it’s not on the university library database yet. I can send it over to you ☺️

In Bulgarian we don’t say “Slow down”, we say “Petko isn’t born yet but they’re making him a hat” (Petko is a popular boy’s name and it’s used to refer to a random person) 🤓

Thank you! 🙏 Yes, a bit tricky trying to summarise it in a tweet! I did find ✨some✨ answers and came up with some guidance, to be published in the upcoming months! 🔜🙌
@AndrewZimolzak
Imagine these plots * 4 (as I also have looked at the Brier, Calibration slope and Intercept), but clearly not sensible to present them all on a poster !
@tmorris_mrc
A simulation to determine whether the performance of a CPM estimated in validation sufficiently represents the performance one would see in implementation, to follow👀🔜

Thank you, Michelle, I couldn’t have done it without your support! I will let you know next time I am in Manchester (hopefully before the summer graduation) ♥️
@MaartenvSmeden
Hi Maarten, thank you for getting involved in the topic! We haven't actually thought of this, will definitely look into it! Currently hoping to finish this review by September. Will be sharing updates.
