My brother Mike is a nonbeliever. During COVID when our dad was recovering from major heart surgery & almost didn't make it, he was moved to rehab w/ no visitors allowed. Dad was confused & extremely weak & he wouldn't have been OK on his own. The only exception was if one of us

Pretty sure his lawyers are saying that he is nonbinary for the sole reason of trying to avoid this being categorized as a hate crime. No evidence that he ever declared himself as nonbinary prior to the shooting.

I have several friends and family members who have left, including my kids. With each of them, we've had many talks about their reasons for leaving. Bc of this, I have a new perspective. In every case, there is deep pain behind the anger. Listening w/o judgment is essential.
