Extremely grateful to my leadership for putting one of our Drill Sergeants, my 1SG, and me in for the Order of St. Maurice. It’s an honor to get to have this impact on the Infantry.
I’m constantly astounded by the generally positive little corner of Twitter I’ve found. What’s even cooler is getting to actually meet people from here…also tanks, I’ll admit tanks are cool.
@SofiGaming
, it was great to meet you in person.
Another great day in the
#Infantry
. Our class completed they Bayonet 16mi foot march over night to hit their final objective this morning: a trench with a cache of critical supplies. Inside those supplies they found their crossed rifles.

#fortmoore
On this crispy
#FortMoore
morning I’m celebrating 1 whole year in the Active Duty
#Army
. Thanks to everyone who got me here and there’s more cool stuff coming down the trail!
Also, picking up a FULL CLASS tomorrow for our next 11B OSUT class! Triple the size of our last one.
CSM put out that there’s no uniform for sign out this morning. With IPPSA, there shouldn’t be a sign out anyways but I’m showing up in an American flag onesie.
@RepMattGaetz
Congressman, no one chooses to be born American, it is our gift and right at birth. How else do you intend to determine who is American for those of us born on her shores or on her soil abroad? Do I need to justify my Americanness to you more than I already have by birth?
That’s a wrap on IMLC, I made it! This is one of the hardest classes I’ve ever taken. Cool to get to finally meet some leaders I look up to too!
@wilkepley
&
@TedMartin1775
thank y’all so much for coming out, that meant a lot.
My default vibe here has been described as “the happiest LT on Sand Hill.” Your boy is extra happy today: I’m finally getting to put my Airborne/RANGER Physical in!
#Army
Well, we’ll find out in about an hour if I made it through FDC 2 in IMLC…yall pray for me, send good intentions, light cigarettes, pack a lip, pour one out, whatever your ritual is for me please.
This OSUT cycle has been very different from the other 3 I’ve done as a PL and XO on Sand Hill: their average age is barely 20 and they have struggled with motivation at times. Last night I got to see my impact and my pay-it-forward objective materialize during the FORGE 1/6
There are great days in the

Soldier: SPC Gaekwad. Here’s the interesting part, up until recently, He was 2LT Gaekwad with me in the
@FLGuard
, and one of my roommates in OCS!

So, my Co is picking up an 11B OSUT class Friday and
@KaelaQuintana
pointed out that they’ll be the first IN class on
#FortMoore
…and that’s pretty darned cool to me! It blows our minds on the regular that we live here.
Eugene Bullard is the COOLEST dude to ever come out of Columbus, GA! Probably the coolest dude to ever walk the damned earth actually…. I’m running through Columbus, GA, listening about this guy, you should too. 💯 dudes rock.
@lions_by
Thinking about you Michael Marshall. Windy, cold days at Eglin teaching you to shoot pistols. You saved the dumbest cadet’s life. I’ve still got your scarf.
Oh shit! 5 years ago I commissioned through State OCS in the
@FLGuard
. Time flies and now in the regular Army! 3 days later I met my platoon and stepped off for my first disaster response mission as a leader.
Picture day complete! First DA photo and the first time I’ve worn the AGSU with the jacket. Big fan…but for the love of God, let me wear my blue cord in official pictures and on the button down. Also, give my enlisted infantrymen the same button downs so they can too.
I am gutted. St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club in Panama City, FL burned down last night. This is where I played as a child, where I learned to sail, where I spent my summers, where I got my first job and where I got married. It survived a CAT5 hurricane and it’s a pile of ash now.
Officially on active duty.
@KirstenSusanne1
, I can’t thank you enough for making the trip down to cross the finish line with us!
@KaelaQuintana
, Chief, and Mattis are enjoying the new house and neighborhood. Gaining unit seems cool as hell too!

Finished a Norwegian Foot March this morning: 18.7mi in 3:58:06. Now I just have to make it through the duty day to earn their badge.

Florida’s favorite son and the Armor MAJ of Ft. Benning,
@jr_liscano
, finally met in person! Thanks for keeping my gassed up through the hard times, sir. I’m happy to finally be here and to mold new Infantrymen. Also, respect for the 120mm smooth bore bringer.

Well, it’s official: I’m getting to go to my first Army conference! I hope to meet some of y’all in person next month at the Maneuver Warfighter Conference 2023!
Just me passionately pleading, with tears in my eyes for NG 18X trainees to not drop their MOS before going to airborne school and instead just going home…Just give it a shot y’all. Don’t go back to your state until they send you.
First day at the Squadron, everyone seems cool. Definitely will be doing fires stuff and one of the NCOs has already hit me up to teach a call for fire class! Looks like I’m gonna get to bless some rains down in the Mojave!!!
All the SDO shifts I’ve done over the last 2 years, doing MCoE yesterday was actually great! Got to swap ghost stories in the middle of the night with the NCOs after we all got spooked and Mattis rolled around with me checking gates. SDO-Dogs should be inspectable.
#FortMoore
, we’ve got to get people in the 1918 club. They opened back up for food and drinks on Thursdays and Fridays.
Fiddler’s Green lounge is back open, and the place is great! Crystal and Al (the bartender and manager) are a blast to hangout with.
Overnight 12mi foot march went extremely well. No fallouts from the whole class! 👍👍 I swear so much, I would do anything for a giant plate of onion rings right now.

This is what glorifying the “Southern Cause” has brought us too. Some people are so thirsty for American blood it is sickening. And by our own hand...we’ve learned this lesson before...God, don’t let us do this again.
Y’all my sponsor at my next unit reached out to us and is cool AF!
Kaela is stoked that she’s got someone to help her pick the house and they gave us the training calendar too! This feels like what PCSing should be like.
Midnight last night in the pouring Sand Hill, Fort Moore, GA rain, we were conducting a 10mi movement to the Obstacle Course that would culminate this class’s FORGE and start their 11B AIT. As I moved through the formation, my soldiers started greeting with “eggs and bacon, sir!”
Cowboy hats, boonies, baseball caps, combat shirts, AND regiment/branch insignias on frickin collars. RETURN TO TRADITION!..do I have to leave this place? Everyone’s been awesome and we like it here!
#bestdamnregiment
Benefits of working at an 11B OSUT Co: I’ve been able to sit in on the best marksmanship training I’ve seen in the Army. Went up for my annual rifle qual this morning, shot expert for the first time in 7 years. Always crushed pistol, but this was a first.
Second drill as a 2LT, literally a month after I commissioned, I got called into my CO’s office and told to drive to our HHT to reenlist my best friend from my FiST Team.
What is your favorite reenlistment story or location?
In 2013 I reenlisted while deployed to Afghanistan. It was small; my platoon leader conducted the oath, and my two team members held the flag.
During the oath, a Soldier walked into the back of the hanger and waited
If you want to read about one of the strongest decision makers I’ve ever met and her incredible thought process, read this thread. I heard this over one of the best beers I’ve ever had. And she still alive and badass.
One year ago today, I had what was suspected to be a heart attack during my own damn staff meeting. I had asked to relinquish command less than 24 hours earlier because I knew I was dying
Let's talk about the leadership lessons I learned from my deathbed
Spoiler: I lived.
