A problem is that climate catastrophism is a proven* secular religion that left all science behind long ago, including the mainstream.
Pursuing the science is noble, but it won't dissolve the new faith!

I really hope so, but there's huge cultural inertia to oppose. Net Zero is the 'salvation' half of the main narrative of climate catastrophism, a proven secular religion with mass belief. It will not retreat easily or willingly!
