Disinformation on climate:. "Extreme heat is the number one weather-related killer in the US". No, it is not. Cold kills 25x more: 152,000 Americans each year. Extreme cold kills 12,000/year. Heat kills 9,500. Extreme heat 6,000.

"But it is not good news": how climate science has to be presented today. Greening is good. Imagine if the researchers had found that Peru had become less green. Yet, all stories have to be bad news. (Nothing in article about why greening is bad news).

Cold kills much more than heat on every continent. US+Canada: 20K heat but 171K cold (8x more). Europe 179K vs 657K cold (4x). Africa 1.2m cold deaths. Asia 2.4m cold deaths. Yet, most reporting focus on heat deaths, because it fits the climate narrative.

Will electric cars save the world? No. Even if all nations achieved all of their ambitious EV targets, emissions will be reduced by about 0.1%. If this is continued throughout the rest of the century, temperatures will be reduced by 0.002°C by 2100.

Hurricanes in 2021 were unprecedented — as in 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝘄. Globally, 2021 had the fewest hurricanes 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 in the satellite era (1980-2021). Did you see that reported anywhere?.

We are being inundated with scary stories about climate change. Fortunately, the actual data shows that most of these tales aren't even remotely true. From my latest newsletter: Sign up here:

Your risk of dying from climate-related disasters dropped 99% since 1920. This is because richer societies are much more resilient to disasters . Read more in my peer-reviewed article:

Despite breathless climate reporting about ever more fire. The US burned area last year was the lowest this century. It was less than 7% of the 1930s. Climate does increase the burned area. but zoning and forest management are much more important. Thread + refs

Fake news doesn't just come from foreign enemies. WHO claimed that 175,000 Europeans died from extreme heat. I pointed out that was untrue, almost 4x exaggerated. The next morning, WHO admitted this in the smallest possible way. Thead&refs:

As 90,000 participants from the latest UN climate negotiations fly back, many in private jets. Ordinary people are being told that we need to ration our travel with a carbon passport to force less travel. Sometimes the elite is astoundingly tone-deaf.

De-growth in the name of climate change is an incredibly misguided idea. Look at Europe, which opted for a ‘sustainable’ economy over a sound one. The cost is likely to top several trillion euros for a trivial temperature reduction of 0.004°C by 2100.

Astounding. Half the world's GDP is produced inside these tiny black spots. A quarter of humanity lives here (2bn). It takes up 0.9% of the global land area. About the size of Colombia (130Mkm²*0.9%). or 2x France. or Texas + California.

CO₂ and climate make the world greener. Over 2001-20 the world added so many new leaves. the additional leaf area is equivalent to 1.4x the area of the Contiguous US. Climate net problem. but breathless reporting ignores an ever-greening world.

This can't go on:. We used to spend 4% of global GDP on energy. Now, we spend 14%. Current energy crisis costs us 10% or $10 trillion each year. (caused both by war in Ukraine and bad, climate-focused policies).
