Hamas started a war on 7/10 and lost it. The victor has the right to determine what happens to the territory. That's true of any war. Ethnic cleansing does not imply massacre. The exact definition is the systematic forced removal of ethnic, racial, or religious groups from a given area. As the controlling authority Israel has every right to do it, and given that Hamas is deeply entrenched in Gaza and has sworn to repeat 7/10, it's difficult to see what other option they have in defence of their homeland. We know from previous experience that Hamas has zero intention of building a functioning state and will divert reconstruction resources to prosecuting jihad. There is no good reason to allow them to. Hamas lost any right to govern when they went on a mass rape-murder spree.

My gut feeling is that the popular evaluation of the Ukraine War will end up remarkably similar to the Winter War (seen as an embarrassing defeat for the Soviet Union despite them getting much more industrial land off Finland than initially planned and having pretty unambiguously militarily defeated them by the time peace talks started)

NEW: Footage released showing a Tennessee security guard calmly taking down an attempted mass sh**ter in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A gunman had started firing at a group of people outside of the Dream nightclub when the guard jumped into action. The man who fired into the crowd was hit by the security guard before he could take any lives. Head of security Joe Reed thinks the attack was planned, revealing security footage of the 24-year-old suspect parking his car down the road before attacking. "It was quick action by our licensed security guard who did what he had to do to protect innocent lives," said Reed. The suspect was injured with non-life-threatening injuries.
