We must individually and collectively reform our research culture: demand transparent methods, reward validation studies, and rebuild funding systems that prioritize reliable innovation along with reproducibility. Our scientific generation must choose between the lure of easy publications and hype, or the pursuit of lasting truth. The patients and taxpayers who support our research—and who are waiting for cures—deserve nothing less.

Reproducibility isn't simply failing—it's a crisis that threatens biomedical research and medicine's future. When most biomedical studies can't be replicated, we're building on quicksand. The lucrative chase for flashy results over solid science has created a house of cards that undermines public trust and delays real cures.

@NIH @NSF The foundation of scientific progress is reproducibility, yet recent studies show that a concerning majority of biomedical research faces replication challenges. This calls for a thoughtful examination of our research ecosystem—from methodology to funding mechanisms. By strengthening peer review, embracing open science, and aligning incentives with reproducible results, we can accelerate meaningful biomedical breakthroughs that truly benefit patients. It's a moral duty of everyone involved to enhance the rigor and reliability of biomedical research , biotechnology and TechBio. #ReliableBiomedicalResearch

So basically Californian tech bros with a combined age of over 360 years old were absolutely destroyed by a 29 year old woman from Sichuan. Where do you even go from here?

@MitoPsychoBio @drmichaellevin 1/ The bioelectric encoding problem and hybrid control systems are Dr.Levin's most pressing challenges. Solving these would enable predictive control of anatomy—unlocking bioelectricity’s potential as a programmable morphogenetic language.

Highlights • Memory storage within self-renewing stem cell progeny is dependent on mitochondria. • Mitochondrial memory requires specific architectural network structure. • Inherited mitochondrial networks underlie transgenerational epigenetic change. • Mitochondrial memory within the population obeys precise statistical distribution.

Some useful Chinese philosophy: 強求長壽,猶如繫風 "forcing longevity is to chain the wind" 強求 (qiángqiú): "to forcibly seek" or "to insist on having" (implies unnatural effort). 長壽 (chángshòu): "longevity." 猶如 (yóurú): "is like" or "is akin to." 繫風 (xì fēng): "to chain/tether the wind" (a poetic metaphor for futility).

The optimal path to longevity is eventually not either aging interception or disease treatment but integrating both: 1- Geroscience Synergy: Develop therapies that target aging mechanisms to prevent multiple age-related diseases simultaneously. 2- Equity Focus: Prioritize scalable, affordable interventions over boutique anti-aging technologies.
