Yep. And the best employees, at least the ones I’ve encountered at startups, understand that “jobs to be done” can fluctuate every 3-6 months. What your job description says and what actually needs to get done/problems to be solved is far more dynamic than any HR person can track

Office teams: stronger emphasis on physical proximity for decision making (e.g. let’s get in a conference room... let’s grab a coffee...) Remote teams in my experience are much more likely to write it down and socialize async. Both struggle with speed in absence of role clarity

Echo the diet suggestions on this thread. Suffered for years and worked w/ a nutritionist who had me eliminate alcohol, sugars, dairy, soy, grains, legumes, for 90 days. We reincorporated things one at a time afterwards and learned what was triggering pain and discomfort

A year ago today my mom and I threw a surprise 60th birthday party for my dad. Friends and family from all over the country flew in. There were hugs! Lots of them! I wish I knew then that it’d be more than a year before gathering and group hugging again.
