If you believe a 78-year-old who hits his driver about 200 yards (And that’s great for a 78-year-old!) beat a field of 22 scratch golfers, you don’t understand how golf (or math) works.

Could you beat Donald on the course?
Johnson Wagner blades Bryson’s bunker shot over the green, then Bryson shows up. After a little coaching, Wagner hits it to 2 feet in the dark and Bryson hands him the trophy!
In the span of 9 months, Phil Mickelson has gone from the guy who literally everyone was pulling for at the PGA to a villain no one wants to succeed in his latest endeavor. Quite a turn of events!
Just saw Tiger Woods go in a bunker to hit some shots and the other golfer in there, a multiple-time PGA Tour winner just stopped and watched, shaking his head a few times. Then his caddie quickly took out a phone to capture his player hitting a shot with Tiger behind him. 🐐🐐🐐
PGA Championship: This is MAJOR!
Also PGA Championship: If you want to watch TIGER WOODS' first round at this MAJOR, you have to pay for ESPN+ and stream it.
Good job, golf. What a joke.
How locked in is Jordan Spieth? After hitting his 2nd shot on No. 13 to about 20 feet, Spieth wanted to practice hitting some wedges into the green so caddie Michael Greller dropped a putter cover in the back-right portion and said it was 87 yards. Spieth hit it his first try.
“Unbelievable. I’m a grass cutter…” Dougie MacIntyre, a greenkeeper in Scotland, says before understandably losing it following his son winning his first PGA Tour title. What a great scene.
Golfers when the greens are brown at the U.S. Open: "THEY'VE LOST THE GOLF COURSE!"
Golfers when the greens are brown out at the Masters: "THIS IS HOW GOLF IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED!"
Talor Gooch in his prime not even considering trying to qualify for his national championship? Because he's mad about the LIV/world ranking situation? Meanwhile, a guy who has accomplished 100x more in golf, Sergio Garcia, went out and qualified last year. Weak look for Gooch.
Fred Couples just now to Joe Buck and Michael Collins about his time at the University of Houston: "I didn't cheat. Well, I guess I did cheat because I had the guys from the swim team take all the tests for me." 😂😂😂
Charley Hoffman going OFF on the USGA and PGA Tour after having to take what he felt was an unfair penalty today. “No accountability at any level here. No protection for the players at all. You wonder why guys are wanting to jump ship and go play on another tour.” Woah.
LIV announces Dustin Johnson has won the season-long individual title to claim $18 million. That’s $18 million for recording 5 top 10s including one win in just SIX tournaments over less than four months. Good lord.
The heated exchange at that club championship in Melbourne was great, but nothing tops the ending (wait for it) when the guy finally returns to play, completely duffs his shot, and then loses his shit again. A masterclass in on-course tantrums!
How is Tony Finau prepping for his

afternoon tee time? By watching on a big screen from a backyard overlooking the 18th at Pebble Beach. Talk about doing it right.
“You have so much pressure in your body you don’t even know what you’re doing.” Mito Pereira able to laugh off (at least publicly) an all-time tough loss. Incredible moment. Props to him for even talking about it.
How awesome is golf? Our top two stories right now are about a 15-year-old girl shooting 57(!) and a 99-year-old(!) man making a hole-in-one. What a freaking sport.
Jason Kokrak has earned $20 million in his career, including $5.1 million last year—or 165x the average median income in the U.S. Pretty sure he could retire right now if that's what he really wants.
Just spoke with Jason Kokrak, who said he has been in talks with the Saudi league. Essentially said he wants to make a bunch of money so he can retire at 44 (very specific age) and watch his kids grow up. Honest if nothing else.
In related news, Kokrak has GOLF SAUDI on his bag.
Today in the “Is golf a sport?” debate:
PRO: Dustin Johnson.
CON: A caddie had to be carted off the course after jumping once to get a better look at the flagstick.
In the past week, Brooks Koepka has said he once made a hole-in-one at Augusta and forgot about it later that day, that $200 million wouldn’t change his life, and that he played pretty good while shooting 4 over. I love Blunt Brooks, but my B.S. meter is starting to sound...

Dom Boulet: “you are now one of the favourites to win a major championship this summer.”
Joaco: “how is that possible if I’m number 100 in the world”
That cheeky grin at the end. He knows 🤣
Justin Thomas has won an incredible 7 of his past 31 PGA Tour starts, a 23% clip. More incredible? Tiger has won 24% of his PGA Tour starts for his CAREER.
I love how golf fans/writers never, ever overreact to one week. What a sensible bunch. That being said, here are my updated major championship predictions:
Masters: Xander
PGA: Xander
U.S. Open: Xander
Open: Xander
Tiger Woods' daughter, Sam, will introduce the 15-time major champ when he's inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame at tomorrow night's ceremony. Pretty darn cool.
ME: This is a putt to win for Mitchell.
WIFE: (No response)
ME: It would mean no playoff.
WIFE (looking at TV first time): PLEASE make it! C’mon, Mitchell, Mitchell, Mitchell... MITCHELL!!! YES!!! Where’s the remote?!
Tiger Woods: "I proved that the surgery was successful, the rehab has been fantastic, and now I have a chance to go out there and play competitive golf again." Amen.
A brief history of Sergio Garcia at Augusta National:
2009: "I don't like it."
2013: "Obviously, it's not my favorite place."
2017: Wins the Masters.
2018: Names 1st born "Azalea" in honor of the place.
NBC shows graphic that Johnny Miller has called 24

wins, including two U.S. Amateurs. "That was a treat," Miller remarks, "covering Tiger's career, especially."
The PGA Tour announced it's charity of the year is receiving $30K. Just slightly less than the $15 MILLION Rory got for winning the yearly popularity contest. 🤔
How about this guy heading to dinner at The Woods Jupiter and running into the other guy wearing shorts, a shirt, a frank logo hat and a green jacket. I can’t think of anything cooler than this. (IG: jguittap)
There are some people saying Tiger only won because everyone else choked, and that 1986 was clearly better. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but these people have conveniently forgotten that Seve found the water on 15 and Norman hit the worst shot of his career on 18.
The only Presidents Cup “snub” I feel bad for is Kevin Na. Three PGA Tour wins in his past 30 starts, a great putter, and someone who has never played for Team USA. If not now, you have to wonder if it will ever happen for the 36-year-old.
How bad was TNT's coverage of the PGA Championship today? I re-watched an hour and broke down the number of shots vs. commercials, and yeah, it was pretty bad...
Imagine telling someone after Jordan Spieth won the Open in July of 2017 that by April 2019 he’d be a run-of-the-mill player and Tiger Woods would be arguably the best in the world? Golf is wild.
Tiger Woods makes 6 birdies in 15 holes in his first match as a playing captain. Hope his back is OK, though, after carrying JT around Royal Melbourne.

Barkley on the importance of youth sports: “I was becoming a crook. Basketball was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Ernie: “And now you’re stealing from TNT.”
Woo! Classic.
Sad to see news that Michelle Wie is retiring, but what a legend—even if she didn’t reach the heights some expected. Almost made a PGA Tour cut at 14 and had six(!) top-5s at LPGA majors before she was 17. An all-time phenom.
