Totally agree. The debriefing and training points are essential.

@5Naureen @AlRicNLG @melaniemay04 @jmrodden @LMN_Jayne @janeedminson @IGovS1 @Vickisticks @neilayates @JaPenn56 @BarkerLeadershp I have extensive experience with exclusions panels, as a panel chair and clerk. Governors sometimes need to overturn a decision. This can be tricky to manage. A debriefing session explaining all the reasons helps. However training is essential.

Totally agree. Always the preferred option for approaching a no.

I think this comes down to the meaning of Integrity in the Nolan Principles. If it's the right thing to do, even though no one else is doing it, it's still the right thing to do. Conversely, if it's wrong thing to do, even though everyone else is doing it, it's still wrong.

So true. The challenge as alwas is what the right thing is, and that's where the skill of questioning comes in. Listen, reflect, identify facts, and take action. I find de Bono's 6 hats helps teams in this process.

@AlRicNLG @IGovS1 @HoyleRosemary @melaniemay04 @bhollyer @5Naureen @neilayates @jmgordon I often use the essence of this poem, based on an Indian folk tale, to tell the story of 6 blind men & an elephant to explain to new governors why a group such as a board can govern more effectively than one person on their own, however good they are.
