October is the Cancer awareness month.
I celebrate all Oncology nurses/ palliative care team, oncologists and cancer survivors.
I pray for a health care system that focuses on empowering and improving human resources for cancer screening and management.
Today, our team from Umma University visited Office the Governor, wajir County government.
We had a fruitful discussion on research collaboration, capacity building for county staff, initiation of distance learning programmes.
We appreciate the county administration.
This week I want to appreciate

Today was a great day at Kisii University.
Discussion was on evidence based practice of cancer patients and
challenges of providing them quality care in Kenya.
Cancer patients have co-morbities and increased risk of severe COVID -19. Apart from the common preventive measures available, they require vaccination priority policies.
This is a great achievement.Thank you to Garissa county govt.
However , it's my pray that you will also do something for the cancer patients.
My phD thesis study done (2017/2018) at GCRH reveals the high prevalence of cancer cases and suboptimal care.
HISTORY IS MADE AS BALAMBALA HOSPITAL RECORDS ITS FIRST CASE OF SURGERY: The first ever ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) surgeries in Balambala Sub-County were successfully conducted during a free surgical camp that entered its 2nd day today at Balambala Sub-County Hospital

cancer pain is the most devastating symptom that affects the quality of life of cancer patients. This calls for comprehensive palliative care across Kenya.
Cancer cases are on increase in Kenya. Our screening services are inadequate, cancer treatment is expensive & the mortality rate is high.
Let us fight cancer . Thanks for the interesting article
@makaumutua
As we celebrate the
#InternationalChildhoodCancerDay
(ICCD), we remember the children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors and their families. Did you know that most Childhood Cancers are curable if diagnosed early?
And it’s a wrap!
Overwhelmed to have taken part in this monumental event of re-drafting an suggesting amendments of the Data Provision clauses on the Draft Huduma Bill and Presenting My Groups Policy.

Day two of oncology nurses chapter at Kisii University, the launch of oncology nursing Education initiative by Head of NCDs, Dr.Wako.
Thank you to all participants .
Why are we focused on training more when we have many unemployed health professionals who have trained? Offcourse not shorten period of training but qualified enough to compete in the international market. Are we looking for quantity or quality?
#UkweliWaMambo
@SicilyKariuki
you are out of order. We must emphasize on quality over quantity in training of healthcare professionals despite the circumstamces.
There is scientific evidence that less trained health workers lead to increased infections and poor patient outcomes
Utilization of an interventional model at all the three levels of care services may be an appropriate strategy of fighting cancer in Kenya @

If RK can physically abuse his colleague cos they didnot agree, then what about those women under his care?
He is a disgrace and he should be punished

Wajir East MP Rashid Kassim is a disgrace. he should not be allowed to go scot-free after assaulting Wajir County Woman Rep Fatuma Gedi.
In fact he should be taught a tough lesson.
#JusticeForFatumaGedi
Prof Khama Rogo :We cannot account for the nurses we produce. Does this make economic sense for the country? We must rethink the strategy for training of healthcare personnel

@StateHouseKenya
for the faith he has shown in me; I take it as a challenge to fly the beautiful flag even higher
No shame on Pumwani.
A hospital is not a physical building. A hospital is the human resource you have ignored for too long.
It's a shame on our leadership, some who have staged a fake protest today.
Are they strangers in Kenya?
Provide leadership, not protest for publicity.
Update!
My team made it to the quarter finals and was awarded Best team work😍It was totally such lovely experience meeting and competing with students all over the world! 🙏🏻 My heart is so full and glad💕
This is so sad and unfortunate. We already have shortage of medical specialists and COVID- 19 is making this situation worse.
My condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones. May Allah protect the few who are left 🙏

RIP Mr Karanja Kabage. Admired how he went back to school to do a law degree later in life (following his passion I guess), and now a PhD...wow. Learning is a continuous thing and I pray the youth understand this. May God give the family solace at this difficult time.

Well done Governor. I hope the county has also prepared enough Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
Remember ICU and HDU beds are manned by a team of specialised healthcare workers, who need to be protected.

The best a man can leave behind after his death are three things:
1) a righteous child who makes du'a for him,
2) an ongoing sadaqah whose rewards continue to reach him, and
3) a knowledge that continues to be implemented after him.
May Allah guide us to righteousness.
Ameen.

Good idea but what about those who cannot write messages because they were never taken to school. They only know how to make a call.
Innalilahi wa inailahi rajiun. May Allah grant jannah to those who passed on during the Kismayo attack. May Allah grant sabr to their families and us. May Allah shame the evil doers who have planted treachery all over the world. May this strengthen us and give us a blessed ending
