I aired my opinion during
#HeritageForum
held in
#Djibouti
. I strongly encourage the community to energetically apply law when dealing with crimes like
#Rape
. It’s never right to use
#Maslaha
since it’s an indirect way to encourage immorality.

The fact that everybody that memories the quran is labelled as a sheikh or a scholar is very wrong. Our religion protects everybody and we are working on a system that verifies and registers duksis operating in Garissa county through SUPKEM .
This project also aims at inclusion of women in decision making positions in the water committes, where they can air their views and speak their minds.
In an open discussing session on human rights issues affecting the people of Garissa and what are some of the ways to address them. Some of these issues include; police brutality, GBV, EJEs, enforced disappearances and early marriages.

Continous advocacy and sensitization is having a huge impact on the women in our community of late and we can proudly say that things are changing for better.
Violence against women & girls inhibits development efforts by destroying the lives of thousands of women & girls. Therefore, continuous advocacy series needs to be done to encourage the actors to free up resources to support the structures 4 the care of GBV cases

It's very sad indeed, at the GBVRC now for the filling of the p3 forms as yesterday was a public holiday. We also provided the first session of Psychosocial support to both the parents and the girls. Our safe spaces are no longer safe.

We cannot blame rather sensitize them as they are all in shock and vulnerable.Positive parenting sessions, Awareness creation and sensitization is what they lacked. Our community puts so much trust on religious figures and that guy tainted the image of our deen and teachings.

We are also in talks with SUPKEM Kenya to map out all the Duksis in Garissa County and report those who do not have certification from their office to run Duksis. We are tired of pedophiles tainting our religion and ruining the lives of innocent kids and traumatizing them.

Lets end stigma and discrimination towards people living with HIV/AiDS.It is making it hard for them to access medical attention and socialize in our communities.People must know that there are laws that are there to protect their rights.

We remember our friends and loved ones who have died from AIDS-related illnesses and stand in solidarity with all people who are living with or affected by HIV.
In some communities like my community(Somali)marriage between the survivor and the perpetrator takes place.Imagine living such a life....just to honor family name and lineage...
