Science works by fixing or eliminating variables; reducing the number of dimensions to help study a single dimension. Therefore scientists are the worst people you could employ to solve real-world problems where all the dimensions are still in play -such as setting public policy.

@cheshiretoad But what's it got to do with Tom Harwood? Like campaigning to end paperclips because he only uses staples.

@rob_goudie @LucyLetbyTrials @TheEconomist Yes, the prosecution has to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt. But prior to that, in deciding murders took place, they conjure up the existence of a murderer. With that as a given, it *must* be pinned on someone, and the 'doubt' threshold therefore reduces to a formality.

@clarksorley @LucyLetbyTrials @ClarkeMicah But it also fits perfectly with Peter's "Everybody must obey the rule of law" mantra. If the law says you only get one trial and two appeals, then sorry, that's all you get. No good crying later if your defence was rubbish. Or if you were convicted of "insurrection" then tough.

@Arwenstar Similar to the Covid jab which 'didn't hurt a bit'. Or "Are you scared of needles or something?". Because of course, that's the main consideration.

@A1an_M The authorities started out monitoring for 'breakthrough infections' so sure were they of efficacy. They quickly discovered that breakthroughs were universal and stopped monitoring. At that point, their story fell apart. You didn't need to be a doctor to realise it.

@ClarkeMicah @SOXIT2003 So if a rogue state creates bad laws, it can stay in power forever. Got it.

@Phillm362 @ClarkeMicah @cjsnowdon All the evidence is worthless if it refers to crimes that never happened. Thousands of pages of garbage.

@ClarkeMicah @northerness @cjsnowdon A lot of people seem to think that a claim of an 'unusual cluster' is not statistics. And it is therefore evidence of a crime.
