In all my years watching baseball, I have never seen a bench coach start a fight like that...and then hide behind his players...
That's an all-time weak move.
RIP Ray Fosse. One of the most genuine people I met while covering baseball. This was taken before I ever covered a game and the man treated me like we’d known each other for years. That’s who he was…an HOF person.
9ers need to go out and get another RT in the draft or FA. Too often 68 gets dumped in the lap of Purdy. I think assignment-wise and in the run game McKivitz probaby does a great job. But if you can upgrade…
One of Purdy's "bad" throws. You can see he gets hit as he's throwing and it affects the ball flight as the ball comes out wobbling. Just a bit off. A clean pocket and it's probably a house call. The safety took a bad angle. Was on 3rd and 5 after the half. but sure, he played
Not a huge fan of putting my personal life on Twitter but if you all could think good thoughts and send positive energy/prayers my dads way I know he’d really appreciate it. He is in a bad way right now with his health and needs all the support he can get.
If the A's didn't play in the AL West they would be:
- Leading the AL Central
- Leading the NL East
- Leading the NL West
- Have the top NL Wildcard spot if they played in the NL Central
These players deserve so much credit. They got NO FAVORS and earned EVERYTHING. Through the rotation injuries. Playing in one of the toughest divisions in baseball. And everybody counting them out.
The whole world against Oakland, and Oakland came out on top. Nothing new.
I’ve been padding since the season ended, and I can say with full confidence that it takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy longer than 4-5 hours to pad a game😂
I was driving to my GF’s apartment in the city when a shooting went down near Golden Gate Ave and bullets narrowly missed my car. Could literally hear them whistling by...
Close call for ya boy and the GF. Feeling pretttyyyy grateful rn.
Please keep
@Thatjacka__
in your thoughts and prayers. He has a tumor in his heart and the possibility of heart cancer. He’s been through a lot so I know he’ll get through it. He needs every single last bit of support right now. Love you Big Whitt! The Nest is behind you💪🦅
The Oakland A's are 30 games over .500 on September 9th, 2018.
There's still a little bit to go, but I can't help but tip my cap. Simply incredible what they've been able to do with the cards they've been dealt.
I'm excited for our journey with
@LastChanceU
this season, but I'll never forget how special last year's squad was. Only a few REALLY know how much adversity we had to go through. Legends forever.

So much to say about Marcus Semien. I remember those dark days in 2015-16. That dude made himself into a ball player. Hardest worker I ever saw while covering the team from 2015-19. A bay area native. Nothing but respect for him.
As a young journalist who didn’t know many people when I first started covering games, Ray Fosse made me feel welcomed in the press box and would frequently check on me. He really didn’t have to do that, but that’s who Foss is. Praying for him and his family.
What a win!!!
- 5️⃣ takeaways
- 2️⃣ defensive TD’s
- Pick 6️⃣ (3 INT’s total)
- Strip sack/fumble TD
- Only 143 yards given up
Absolutely special performance by our defense! Great team win! So much fun!

Today we said goodbye to an extraordinary young man. He touched so many with his enthusiasm for life and his courage in the toughest of times. I feel extremely fortunate to have known him. RIP Ramone.

At 41-38, the Oakland Athletics have the exact same record as the Los Angeles Angels.
At a payroll of $189 million, the Angels paid $4,616,366 for each of those 41 wins.
The A's? $2,019,623...less than half.
Had a great time at the College Coaches Skills Camp at
@OUAZFootball
. They have beautiful facilities and an awesome coaching staff! Great place to go if you’re looking at NAIA’s!

I say the A's should knock down Mt. Davis in 2020 regardless of whether they're moving to HT or not. Give the fans a couple of years of the beautiful Oakland Hills.
Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum, ca 1969 - Two things might surprise the average fan about this 52-year old stadium, 1) how pretty it once was and 2) the Raiders, not the A's, was the first team to occupy it. Today, it's the last remaining stadium to host both MLB and NFL teams
For whatever reason I can’t help but think of Ramone today. His strength and courage inspired me to be better and to live each day with gratitude. Love and miss him dearly.

I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t choked up about the A’s. Memories that will live with me forever. The teams over the years have come and gone, but the fans were what really made it special. Oakland has the best fans in sports. Period.
Fun thought: Of those that have played for the A's the last 10 years, who'd be your pick to manage someday? Stephen Vogt comes to mind for me among others...
I love Oakland with every ounce of my being. I’m not from there, but I can assure everybody it’s quite the opposite of “hell.” People where I grew up, however, act like it’s a war zone. It’s not.
These are challenging times no doubt.
But if these guys taught me anything in 2018,
#LaneyBuilt
means you ball out regardless.
Time to do it again.

Chad Pinder has EASILY been the most underrated Oakland A of the last three years. He’s a plus defender (in the OF AND IF) with some juice in the bat. Happy he’s having a good series. Hope he gets more opportunity next year.
Love you
@gallopingael
. Thank you for being as good of a friend as anybody could ask for. I’m glad you’re no longer suffering…I’ve never seen anybody go through as much pain as you have these last four years.
RIP to one of the best people I’ve ever met, gone way too soon💔
The A's get Texas for three while the M's and Stros have to play the Yanks and Red Sox.
Me thinks the time to make a move on the division/WC is this weekend.
May have just been a scrimmage, but so happy just to able to play another team on a football field again. So happy for our guys!…some have waited a very long time for this! Can’t take it for granted!

The A's have a lot of up and coming talent that's putting together a playoff push. The Red Sox and Yankees are juggernauts.
Oh no, it's not 2012, it's most definitely 2000.
From my first-ever interview as a journalist in High-A ball, to an American League All-Star. Congratulations to Matt Chapman on an amazing accomplishment.
May only be a scrimmage but it’s the closest thing we’ve had to a game in a year and a half. Energy is going to be 🔥 at The Nest! We bout it!!

Been a crazy day, but I officially passed my comprehensive exam for my master’s.
Never thought growing up I would get two degrees but here we are. The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next💪

Coaching at
@LaneyCollegeFB
is the best thing to ever happen to me. Period.
It has provided me an opportunity to learn under some of the best coaches in America. Most importantly, it has allowed me to help great young men achieve their full potential!

Proud is an understatement. Nothing was easy about this season for this group, but they battled and got better every week.
3-straight games with a pick-6 for those Laney LB’s😈🤫
