Sweden: High levels of vitamin D deficiency were found in young Somali mothers. Irrespective of season, btw 62% and 86% of young Somali mothers had 25OHD3 levels <25 nM. With this low vitamin D, one wonders whether overt signs of bone deformities were also present in children.

We visited the forensic science lab in Garowe @BureauForensics . We met competent scientists, very young men and women. After listening their presentations, I got the impression that no rapist or other criminal can escape the justice for lack of evidence with that lab in place.

There is inspiring progress in health research in Somalia without MOH or WHO contributions. In 2018 Somali researchers published more research articles than researchers in Congo, Mauritania, Chad, Afghanistan, Mali, Niger, Guinea B. and some more. Congrats my fellow researchers.

My government, do you really need capacity building? Don't ask your partners for something that gives you a quick cash, such as meetings, seminars etc; ask them to train your staff via PhD scholarships etc. This will give the country not a quick cash, but a sustainable capacity

The authority is counting numbers infected/dead for covid-19. They are not sure if measures implemented have worked or not, and they don’t care. Instead of investing research, oral tradition is invested. How long does Covid-19 stays in such a context? Somalia will answer!

DHS has been launched in Somalia, who did the survey? yes international partners. Somalia has over 1000 trained young researchers but leaders are not willing to mobilize them and invest research. While they have neglected their own resources, they are proud to promote dependence

@RAbdiAnalyst Kenya has no case to present, and even worse, they don’t have leaders intelligent enough to prepare and present a reasonable justification of why they withdraw their case from ICJ. Look their case, it is nonsense, no money, Covid-19, we did not get used virtual meetings, what?
