Piestewa Peak, Phoenix, Arizona. Hiking #Piestewa Peak seems to be a rite of passage for Phoenicians & their guests. In late summer evening you can see a train of headlamps as hikers strive for the summit. the peak comprises #Proterozoic-age #metamorphic rocks.

Rhyolite lavas and intrusives in the Burro Creek-Burro Mesa area about 8 miles north of Bagdad, AZ. The volcanic rocks are Neogene: Tbo – olivine basalt; Trb and Trf are rhyolitic lava flows. There ~1,000 feet of relief from the crest of Burro Mesa to the Burro Creek channel.
