February 2024 | Final Recap
I learned a lot my first month posting picks. Started working on a tennis model. Going to continue to make picks without it to establish a baseline while I develop my statistical repertoire and my eye for tennis betting. Also hope to continue to form
Fam “Lessons in Chemistry” is not an “entry grade chemistry book”, it’s a brilliant historical fiction novel about the empowerment of women and what they’ve had to overcome to be recognized in STEM fields. Not on either side, just needed to point that out.
It’s Rublev time. This is gonna be tough for him. A true test. Everyone loving Lehecka as the dog, but I’d love to see Rublev make a statement. Let that forehand work its magic, kid.
@AndreyRublev97
Man I can’t believe I went my whole life not paying attention to tennis, such a hidden gem. The complexity, the nuances, the elegance, the personalities, the passion, the incessant schedule. A true joy to watch & follow.

is a great account to follow if you're interested in the deeper statistics of the sport. Incredible data-oriented insights and data visualizations.
Serve from the other day. Nowhere near perfect technique (too much bend in back leg, initial take-back disjointed, toss needs work), but I absolutely smoked this one.
@usta
4.0 by end of May is the goal.
No Tennis TV, the head to head is not 2-0 in Molcan's favor. While Molcan has won the last two matches against Coria, the Argentine won the first two, they were just in Challenger events!
Reminder to everyone that

I wanna play on a clay court so bad but there is like only one in Kansas City and it’s blue clay and you have to basically be a millionaire to be in the country club to be play on it, pain
This is a standard, lacking-of-shade answer imo. Y’all love drama. Players are competitive. They’re not gonna idolize another active player. That’s the long and the short of it.
Coco Gauff on Iga Swiatek: “She’s doing really well but no one looks at her like some impossible goal. She’s just a tennis player. I’m not trying to downplay her, she's beaten me a lot of times... You can't look at it I guess in a far way because you want that to be you one day”

just seem like really cool guys I'd wanna have a beer with and talk tennis. Scott has really opened my eyes to the wonderful genius of Andy Murray as well.
Ok Alcaraz is extremely well-spoken. I went from liking this kid tonight to LOVING him. He’s got the resolve and composure that will separate him from the rest.

Happy Sunshine Swing, folks. What a great time to be a tennis fan. Enjoy tomorrow. More plays in the morning potentially.
Jannik nearly catches the same line he had vs ADM?? Tsitsipas is worlds better than De Minaur and actually has a serve. I simply cannot remain silent with this disrespect.

Mensik solid as a rock on both wings, moves like a gazelle, AND he has a cannon on serve. Sending the ball cross court, down-the-line effectively, tolerating blistering rallies with Rublev. So impressed with what I’ve seen from this kid today regardless of result.

Med not getting enough credit here. 2nd year in a row he has overcome his least preferred (hard court) conditions to reach the final. Despite it certainly being a big win for Carlos yesterday,
From this piece which is a MUST-READ for tennis fans/lovers/etc. Owen, dare I say this is the finest piece of tennis prose I’ve ever read? Because I think it just might be. Excellent work, my friend.
@Popcorn_Tennis1
In writing this a couple days ago, I delved farther into the mystery of tennis than I had before, which was fascinating to think about and something I want to follow up on at some point.
February 24th, 2024 | Recap
These are the days that make this so much fun. Take the good with the bad though. One day at a time. Few Sunday picks out soon. Let’s maintain momentum.
I personally think the Joao Fonseca cross-court forehand and the Jakub Mensik inside-out forehand should be registered as deadly weapons but that’s just me

What a slam this has been. What a slam this has been for Daniil Medvedev. What a slam this has been for Jannik Sinner. Both deserve it. We’ll see who pulls through this 5th set.
And here’s a backhand rocket just to distract myself from the fact that I should be working on my serve, slice, volleys, and footwork 😂 more video soon

I do. Brilliant coverage at every level, but also the emphasis you put on the Challenger Tour is something you can’t get ANYWHERE else besides

I know I’m not often on Twitter and in general last months I was not really active in social media.I just wanna say big thanks for the support last week in Rotterdam it was a good week for me, 1st semis after while.And I’m so excited for the next weeks to give more than me best🖤

Jannik is playing out of his mind, but I think this line is too much in favor of the Italian. Expected to see -120/+100 ML split, a lot of value here with the strong negative trend associated with betting
@srihariravi12
But that backhand return is just so vulnerable on grass. It’s unfortunate he can’t get some variety, learn how to block like prime Fed/Stan.

Yep. Followed him for 2 years as a general tennis fan and noticed how toxic he is, always pushing some agenda other than the actual tennis. Couldn’t deal with it anymore. Not to mention what a complete joke this Bo3 argument is. Honestly sad someone doesn’t want to see as much
Apparently if you try to save the men's game by saying that Majors should be best-of-five, Ben Rothenberg will throw a hissy fit and block you. Childish behavior, but expect nothing less from someone who feeds off of drama and conflict.
Tsitsipas v. Musetti on clay is just so fun to watch. The heat on the Tsitsipas serve & forehand, the variety on the Musetti backhand & Musetti’s improvisation, electric.
Overcoming mental health struggles, especially substance abuse issues, from one who’s dealt with them myself, is so extremely difficult. I’m wishing him the best and hope to see him happy, healthy, and back on tour soon.
Lucas Pouille recalls his darkest hour last June at a UK Challenger

The more I get into this episode, the more enthralled I am by it. A lot of profound discussion on the development of the game since early 2000's, the Big 3 and what makes them as individual players in addition to the rivalries between them so great, the other cornerstone players-

Small profit. Let’s continue to chip away. No picks today as I have a very important interview for a new job. Wish me luck, love you guys.
I get the sense that these extremely slow Rotterdam courts are frustrating Rublev. Forehand isn’t exploding through the court like he’s used to. Hoping Chardy can pull out this 2nd set and make it interesting.
I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen from Novak Djokovic the last few months, but he has really disappointed me in the last 2 days. What a poor attitude on display in singles bronze match & then completely taking away Stojanovic’s opportunity to fight for a medal. Sad.

Heard on all this. Definitely makes sense for Challenger guys fixing but a guy of Diego’s ranking pulling home the prize money he does consistently doesn’t match up with blatant match fixing during clay season, like at least wait for HC season if that’s what you’re doing.
Disappointing from Delbonis, a lot of UE's off the forehand side in those last few games/tiebreak. Great win for Gaston though who showed a lot of mental fortitude in that tiebreak.

Thanks man! This may be a better quality video. Other one I just saved from my Instagram. And yeah it’s partly my fault because I have the view zoomed out. First time doing it, many more to come!

6-2 6-3 Iga or similar. Will be a straightforward championship match for Iga, I expect Sakkari to be somewhat competitive in one set but Iga to pull away overall per usual.
Serve seems to be holding Altmaier back. Love watching that backhand though and seems well enough on the forehand side. Thoughts on Altmaier?
