Pouille thinks he had the wrong gameplan at first. Royer was comfortable with him trying to rush like vs Blockx yesterday, so he needed to adapt. Bouquier's run isn't unexpected for him, he watched him play a year ago and was telling people that he was going to climb soon.

Was Pouille peaking like yesterday? No. Did he win like yesterday? Yeah. Hold from 0-40 to maintain his break advantage in the second set looks massive in hindsight. Lots of tough work behind the baseline today, struggle in the last few games was also pretty much self-inflicted.

Not sure why, but Royer isn't rushed by Pouille's game same way Blockx was. Alex felt the pressure and couldn't resist the temptation of trying to play even faster than Lucas. Royer is extending points and returning better. The veteran will need something new here, 3-6 1st set.

Carreño Busta is 11-1 in Challenger finals, winning his first 11 in 2011-15 before losing to Cachin at 2015 Seville. Almost 10 years later, he makes it into another final at this level and will face Moro Cañas in Tenerife (from Oct 2015 to Oct 2023 he didn't play any Challengers)

Bencic takes a WTA 500 title after only playing 25 matches since the pregnancy. There were setbacks and reality checks along the way, but she kept improving with every event. Had one amazing set in her vs Gauff at the AO and the next tournament that level becomes sustainable.
