Heute wird in Rumänien🇷🇴 der »Tag der Vereinigung« (Ziua Unirii Principatelor Române) gefeiert. 1859 wurde an diesem Tag Alexandru Ioan Cuza zum Fürsten der Vereinigten Fürstentümer der Walachei und Moldau gewählt, womit die beiden Provinzen vereinigt wurden.
