My sincere condolences upon the passing of former German Federal President Horst Köhler. He was a great statesman and a convinced European. I remember our meeting in Sibiu, during the European Cultural Capital 2007, very fondly.

Romania welcomes the release of the first group of hostages, incl. one RO🇷🇴 national&one of RO origin, following the #Gaza Agreement. We thank all partners for the support&call for continued implementation of the agreement&for the return of the remaining hostages to the families.

Appalled by the terror attack in #Magdeburg, where innocent people were killed and injured. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims. Romania stands in solidarity with the German people in these difficult times.

Regarding the developments in Romania, we also discussed information manipulation and interference, and attempts to undermine democracy in the European Union and Member States, condemning Russia’s hybrid activities, including in the electoral processes.

Today, at the EU-Western Balkans Summit in #Brussels, I have encouraged all WB partners to build on their current track record, accelerate reforms & advance the EU integration processes. Romania is here to offer assistance & fully supports the Growth Plan for the #WesternBalkans.
