The report quantifies and confirms hotels’ importance to the American economy. 🔵 With 5.7 million guest rooms in more than 64,000 hotels nationwide, hotels sold almost 1.3 billion room nights in 2024. 🔵 The industry’s total jobs impact is 9.2 million, meaning that 1 in every 25 American jobs depends on hotels; the industry is directly responsible for 5.1 million jobs. 🔵 Hotels supported $1.7 trillion in sales by U.S. businesses and contributed $894.1 billion to US GDP. 🔵 Hotels supported $526.3 billion of wages, salaries and other compensation, including $125.8 billion in hotel operations. 🔵 Hotels supported $246.3 billion of federal, state and local taxes—equivalent to $1,931 per U.S. household annually. 🔵 Hotel guests spent $786.5 billion at hotels and local businesses, and on transportation. 📖 Download the report: 🖱 Access the Economic Impact Dashboard, which provides state-by-state and congressional district information about the industry’s economic impact:

📣 JUST RELEASED: AHLA's 2025 State of the Industry report in collaboration with AHLA Silver Partner @Accenture_US Top findings include: 💲 Hotels are projected to pay employees a record of $128.47 billion in wages, salaries, and other compensation this year 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Hotels are projected to add another 14,000 employees this year and employ more than 2.17 million people 💰 Hotels are projected to generate a record of $55.46 billion in state and local tax revenue this year 💵 Hotels are expected to generate a record of $30.14 billion in federal tax revenue this year 🍽️ Nominal hotel guest spending on lodging, transportation, food and beverage, retail, and other expenses is expected to reach $777.25 billion this year ➡️ Learn more: ➡️ Download the report:

The Hotel Fees Transparency Act (S.2498) is advancing! Today the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation passed the bill, which would establish a nationwide standard for transparent pricing of lodging fees. It now advances to the full Senate for consideration. We applaud @SenAmyKlobuchar and Senator @JerryMoran for their leadership in leveling the playing field for all types of lodging providers and distributors. We also appreciate @SenTedCruz and @SenatorCantwell for making this legislation a priority in the new Congress. We're working to introduce a companion bill in the House of Representatives, with the ultimate goal of getting this important legislation to the president's desk.
