One young Soldier asked to speak to me because I was the first woman in leadership she came across. That day I knew why I was there.

Tore my rotator cuff in JUN 23, no movement for 6 mo. Doc cleared me last mo, took an ACFT this morning for the first time in over a year. Waiting on recovery is an uncomfortable space to be in BUT necessary. I was overly cautious on this one, but not bad. Thanks

Today more than others I am reminded of what it means to serve. 1 MAR 10 an early morning convoy in Kandahar ended in the loss of SGT Gelig. I was the Co Cdr in the same vehicle when we were hit by a SVBIED. I am forever grateful to the team that rallied and continues to serve.
