Dragona is a feminine name, she gets implants or uses Smooth Operators to change her body, Araki took inspiration from a female trans model when he created Dragona and that's referenced in her poses and cover art
@MOMLYN3
Dragona is not trans. There is not a single panel were that is implied, both Jodio and the omnipresent narrator refer to him with male pronouns.
The others i agree (save for anasui which was just Araki changing his mind).
Tjis whole thing makes me wanna kill myself lowkey
After a few months I still don't understand what's wrong with my art. What's wrong with Maria's small breasts? And her body? Am I a bad bad person because my art is just a little weird sometimes?
@daughter_ion
The transfem equivalent is something that goes "SISSY tight pants for CROSSDRESSERS FUTA TRANSVESTITES" with an overly saturated pink background
@Trans_Lykeia
I honestly don't feel bad for these people. At all. Like, yeah ok, sucks that happened to you, but you're a piece of shit for responding to that with "uhm actually I'm a *real* woman!"
@Phlegmbuoy
The fact they say they have a "better" vision compared to SOMEONE ELSE'S ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION, even if not done 100% accurately and not perfectly informed is just wild 💀
@benjanun_s
*spins wheel* white trans women, *throws dart* named Lilith... *rolls dice* uuuuh hold on *tosses bones on the ground* CULTURAL APPROPRIATION!!
self proclaimed c1s "ally" calling trans women regressive assimilationists because god forbid we deny him his sacred right to elevate troonjaks as the pinnacle of gender noncomformity
@bloomfilters
It's even easier to understand this when you realize that the core of this belief is "dominant and masculine = male". Shit's just sexism 101 and putting the least amount of effort into thinking about it feels like an overkill for how basic it is
@wizardsofautism
OMG I get told "the world doesn't revolve around you" so many times. I almost feel like I'm a selfish asshole every time I tell my needs to someone
@jessicobra
Men think that the right punishment for making them question their own sexuality is death and then they get away with it because "it was rape by deception"
@Newposter2
That's literally the most basic form of radical feminism but TERFs have to point out how that's somehow weird and fetish-y just because she's trans
Dragona Joestar is that kind of character that might as well turn their head to the camera and say in perfect english "I Am A Trans Woman" and weirdos would still go on about how it's actually a weird japanese custom™. If you read Dragona as anything but trans you're just dumb
Isn't it amazing how non-transfem artists treat trans women's identities, experiences (and suffering) as something to parade around with their friends and toy with, dolls they can do whatever they want with?
@Jack2King_Art
Not necessarily that she can't transition moreso she just doesn't know thats a thing she could do- but still I loev my daughter (I even used to draw her with facial hair too but stopped bc I didn't want people think she was "too masculine" for a pre-trans girl 😭)
@DocViviLeandra
Omg yes. That's the most common response to trans women calling out transmisogynistic imagery. "Oh so you want all trans women to look like sexy anime women?" as a comeback is used to paint us as demanding hypocrites and it's so so frustrating
There's an entire chapter dedicated to Dragona's backstory and how she grows to become her true self and not succumb to the societal pressure that demands her to be cis
Dragona is also her chosen name, as in that same chapter she gets dead named (on top of being sexually assaulted because she was too feminine for a boy (which is a thing that happens to lots of trans girls even before they come out or even realize they're trans))
@bloomfilters
We don't get any details about the trans girl but the articles focuses on how the aggressor is going to miss their mom and how much they cried instead
@MalevolentAstra
The way they removed the water drops and smoothed her skin, made it lighter and highlighted the tan lines is just creepy. Idk why they removed the camel toe tho. Still weird
@_QAE0
Imma be honest I really don't like how the word "cancelled" has basically lost its meaning of career ending event and potential blacklisting from a whole sector of entertainment and now it's just "I got criticized once and logged off twitter for like two days :'("
@Chican3ry
The same people who say we should avoid giving hrt to people because it makes them "lifelong patients" are talking about putting minors on antidepressants
Dragona Joestar is that kind of character that might as well turn their head to the camera and say in perfect english "I Am A Trans Woman" and weirdos would still go on about how it's actually a weird japanese custom™. If you read Dragona as anything but trans you're just dumb
@SiliconeAndBone
I think one of the factors that makes some people ignore the idea gender identity influences someone's socialization is that... they don't believe kids can be trans (and be treated differently because of it, even when they aren't aware of that part of their identity)
@bendy_bone
Ella Snyder, the Diesel muse. Dragona's clothing is also inspired by Diesel's "D" fashion line, but with some modifications (high collar, no sleeves, zig zag cut on the bottom and customized logo)
@Phlegmbuoy
Modesty is a patriarchal and oppressive concept and I believe there isn't a good way to appropriate it and make it into a good thing, and the fact that the "fixed" version is her being completely covered just shows to what extent ideals of "modesty" sexualize the body of women
