@HansFiene What would the Lutheran response be to Catholics when they say assurance of salvation is false and heretical. Are we not able to know if we are justified?

I haven’t been really too involved in this conversation, but I am curious what would a person need to be saved? This isn’t me trying play gotcha. I’m seriously trying to understand your view on the gospel and salvation.

@CrankyKat @HansFiene I’m not well versed on the differences between WELS and LCMS. All I know is they both seem like brothers and sisters in Christ.
