@Ajarncom QR in China restaurants works super well but they do have stupidly fast wifi etc. Most places will have a traditional printed menu if you wish. Scanning via Alipay app will also translate everything for you so you don't end up with noodles and duck head, neck, ass or stomach!

@funkentechno I remember seeing them live....it was a blast and they even had a lottery/quiz half way through the show.....I won a CD of one of their DJ Sets IIRC.

@Ajarncom 100% this...The over touristy spots leave me cold and I'd rather seek out the odd little spots here and there where you can have a moments calm, a good coffee, some attempt at conversation with the locals. Shanghai has plenty of everything.
