The Northern Ireland Teachers’ Council, which includes the UTU, have issued a press release in response to the Education Minister’s comments regarding the transfer test.
James Larkin - born 21 January 1876 - Trade Unionist who fought poverty and injustice and who coined the phrase "a fair day's pay for a fair day' work". Who called for workers to stand up for themselves.
Values which are as important today as they were a hundred years ago.
No teacher wants to be standing on a picket line, but here we are, enough is enough. Our schools and support services demand significant investment and pay parity.

Details of a great opportunity for teachers to gain the Irish FA National Coaching Certificate.
Teachers must be either:
a) working in a school in the Belfast Council Area
OR
b) living in the Belfast Council area
Course duration: 2.5 days
